Titanium wrap withstands 1800 degrees Fahrenheit direct heat and 2500-degree intermittent heat. It promotes increased flow for improved performance while reducing temperature and vibration breakdown. Perfect for any automotive or motorcycle application. Note of Caution: Wrap is not designed to be removed after it has been through heat cycles. After the fibers have been heated they lose their initial flexibility. This does not reduce the thermal properties of the exhaust wrap. Be aware of this before you decide to remove the wrap. Design Engineering Hi-Temp Silicone Coating spray is NOT recommended for DEI Titanium wrap. Note about Titanium Exhaust Systems: DEI does NOT recommend wrapping Titanium exhausts. Calculate the Wrap Needed
Prior to wrapping, consult the material chart to make sure you have enough wrap before you begin. Wrapping a pipe takes time and concentration. The tighter the wrap the better the hold and less chance of a loose or irregular fit. Consider anchoring one end of the wrap as it will aid in a much tighter wrap which results in better heat isolation.
Use a 1/4" Overlap
Start wrapping the primary tube tightly at the exhaust port and secure it with a DEI Stainless Steel Locking Tie, hose clamp or safety wire. Testing has shown that utilizing a 1/4" overlap produces the best results without adversely affecting headers and tubing.
Secure the Ends
Where primary tubes become closer together, wrap both pipes as one while using the same 1/4" overlap. Proceed to wrap the collector securing the ends with DEI Stainless Steel Locking Ties.
