For high and low beam in a single HID bulb you need to have a bi xenon bulb that has an actuator, or use a high/low beam projector lens that has a built in actuator for the beam cutoff. Those are all separate pieces to a complete Xenon Bulb retrofit.

Answer:	I'm not sure if I am answering what you are actually asking. I have two vehicles using these ballasts. One has a two light system and uses hi-lo HID bulbs controlled by a relay that changes the position of the bulb in relation to the reflector to give a high beam and a low beam. This system works reasonably well. The other vehicle has a four light system and I use this on the low beams only. I could set up the high beams with HID bulbs but, due to the warm up time of the HID, I feel it is not a good idea.

Remove the Headlight Bulbs!

If you just noticed that your headlight is out, open your hood and access the headlight bulb through the access port in the back 

Inspect the Headlight Bulbs!

Remove the headlight bulb and inspect it for any discoloration or cracks. A good headlight bulb will look like the one pictured above.



If no discoloration is present, switch both headlight bulbs from one headlight to another. 

Replace the HID Ballast!

If the same headlight still does not light up replace your HID Ballast.
