1. Manual is very important.
Always try to read the manual, no matter you are experienced or beginners, manual will help you with better sewing experience. The manual has its own gold house. We also made accessible video with subtitle for you to start. With these, sewing won't be difficult for you.
2. Wide applications on sewing fabrics
This is sewing and quilting machine, fabric no thicker than 5mm works fine with Z6 sewing machine.
Your fabric will determine the choice of a needle and thread. There is table in our manual which is a practical guide to needle and thread selection on Page 10. Always refer to it before a new sewing project. And be sure to use the same size and type of thread in the bobbin as in the top thread supply.
Warm prompt:
1. If jam happens, you can check from below aspects:
a. Top thread is not well threaded
Make sure thread pass all the slots as in the manual and retry.
b. The top thread tension is not appropriate
The bobbin tension has been correctly set at the factory, so you do not need to adjust it. Just need to adjust the top thread tension, 90% of your sewing will be done with the top thread tension control set at “4”. You can have a trial test on the fabric before start the main project.
2. The feed dogs don't come up
a. First, make sure the feed dog control is right in the position. When turn to right side, it is push down and then to the right, like an "L" as showing in the manual.
b. Rotate the hand wheel after switch to the feed dog side to see the feed dog raise to the right position.
c. Restart the sewing machine.
3. When want to use letter mode
a. Use Satin stitch foot (Z).
b. If you want to larger the space between letters, don't forget to use manual adjustment buttons.

| Answer: | I haven't tested all thread. T-40 will be safe. Topstitching threads are also fine with an appropriate topstitching needle. Also when using heavier threads decrease the top tension and if using it in the bobbin, it may also need adjusting. Usually I keep two bobbin cases on hand, one specifically for T-50 and the other for specialty threads or heavier threads. I only use this machine for travel or just straight sewing. Oh and DX5 uses buttons to change stitch length whereas the DX7 uses a dial. All other specs, stitch speed, motor, etc are the same. After comparing both for some time I went with the DX5, because 185 stitches is already more than I’ll ever use for garments or quilting, and I like buttons. The quilting table would be nice but can be purchased separately. The DX5 is by far the most amazing machine I’ve ever sewn on, and a year in I highly recommend it! |

However, Amazon gave me a credit for the value of those two items and I purchased them. I’ve had the Juki for 16 months and absolutely love it. |

| Answer: | I own (and love) the 8900. The main difference I recall from when I was machine shopping is that when you install the straight stitch plate on the 8900, there are only certain stitches you can select. It's a safety feature, so you don't try to sew a zigzag stitch with the single hole plate, breaking the needle and maybe throwing the timing off. |

| Answer: | Did you receive the legs with screw adjustable feet that holds up the clear extension table???? there should be 4 black "caps" screwed in to the underside of the table. Turn the table so these "caps" are up and slide the legs on to them. No screws are needed. If you have a 5th leg, you should have a suction cup that will attach to the leg and you can attache that leg to the underside of the table in the middle (or wherever) you want extra support. If you don't have the "caps" and legs, I would contact the seller and request a new extension table. I have three different machines and I have purchased an extension table, for all of them. They all work the same way.... Hope this helps. |

My main problem was that most embroidered fabric requires not only the right kind of stabilizer under the fabric but also a “topper.” The instructions do not explain this well. I took a class at a local quilting shop and now I am embroidering quite well. |

| Answer: | I probably would not unless it was a thin piece. That type of material is better left to a specific machine built for that. I would hate to think I burned up the motor on my 1,000 embroidery machine trying to sew a straight stitch in a leather piece. |

| Answer: | Mine came with one in it, with no thread on it... if yours had thread on it I would think it was a return, but if not, it’s more than likely not a return. |

| Answer: | I haven’t tried the buttonhole stitch yet, so I don’t know. This machine uses a specific plastic bobbin and I don’t think a metal bobbin would work. It would likely damage the machine. |

| Answer: | I haven’t used the monogramming foot yet but the machine has the ability to adjust stitch length and width and the manual says not to use a width larger than 6mm with the monogramming foot. Any more than that and the needle will hit the foot and could bend or break. |
