Question:	I had an Olfa cutting mat and the smell of the mat was present after 1 week. How does this mat compare? Any special tricks used to fight this
Answer:	there wasn't a label that came with my mat, it came packaged in a plastic bag with a bar code on it. This mat isn't one of the gel top mats though, if that's the kind you're worried about.

Answer:	I don't see why not. They're plastic, though, and not silicon so sticking could be an issue if they're not properly floured. Also, depending on the size of said pies, you might run out of real estate on one of these. They're good size, but if you're baking a 12" pie, you'll have crust falling off the board. Also remember that these are one sided. The textured bottom side might make rolling anything out a pain.

Answer:	The packaging says "non-toxic, BPA-free plastic". No mention anywhere re: BPS, sorry. As plastic cutting mats go, these are head-and-shoulders above the brands I have used prior to this.

Answer:	re: plastic type-- Packaging does not state anything other than BPA-free. But from experience with plastic in multiple applications, I would say with 90% certainty that these are HDPE (or a kissing-cousin).

Answer:	For storing I used a hole punch and hung mine up. If it were me I would not try to clean the mold off, when these mats are used they do get cuts in them. mold spores can live in these creavases, & mold can make you extremely sick. If you must clean (again not recommended) soak in bleach. Good luck.

Answer:	I have used various cutting instruments on this. I have used rotary cutters, x-acto knives, utility knives, wood carving blades, and leather cutting knives and it holds up great.
Question:	This thing is huge, heavy, & unbendable. how do i store it? i tried to roll it, but it's impossible. thank you for any suggestions
Answer:	I got a piece of quarter inch plywood just slightly larger than my mat. Lowes cut the piece for me. I sanded it all around the edges. On the back I cut a piece of felt to meet the edges then took paint brush and covered wood with elmer's a little watered down. Pressed the felt and smoothed out and let dry overnight. I took an old belt or you could use a cloth woven belt like come with some men's summer pants and cut a piece maybe 10 inches long. I used a heavy duty staple gun to attach the belt piece - one end one one side and the other end on the other side about 4 inches apart. Makes a great handle that is easy to manage. I glued the mat to the plain side of the wood and let dry overnight. It is a dream cause it is big enough to give me plenty of cutting space and it holds my 36x48 mat. I used a smaller mat for a while and it just became a hastle. My table is smaller that 36x48 but I can lay the board on the table and still cut, then put it away after. for smaller trimming and smaller cuts I still use the 18x24 that stays on the table all the time.
