Answer:	I believe you have to do it manually but there was a fair isle carriage for this machine but I hear that it isn't easy to find and expensive if you do find it. The best way would be by getting a machine that has a punch card attachment. I have a standard machine with a punchcard it does fair isle with 2 yarns in the feeder.

Answer:	The machine opening is 10 inches so technically that is the width of the tube it creates. The relaxed tube will depend on your tension. The last one I did when relaxed was about 8 inches. When stretched it get to 11 inches easily.

Answer:	Yes only when working a tube. What a shame. Had to check it out for myself. A bit dissapointing.

Answer:	I have not used it that way but my tube ends up being about 8 inches across, so somewhere between 14-16 inches depending on tension would be my guess.

Answer:	No, it is not very fragile. The needles actually are not plastic. They are metal. The the needle bed they sit in is hard plastic.
