Answer:	I used the little places in the sleeve to let them dry and I let them dry about an hour. The put them into the sleeve, unsealed and sent the whole thing back. I got got good results on all specimens

Answer:	Actually you should wait at least until the puppy is no longer nursing on the mom. That Can skew the results.

Answer:	One of my puppies results came back with 12.5% “breed groups”. If you want those specific breeds, they charge an additional $89. Says results in a couple days, I got them in a few seconds. So they obviously already had that info ready. Deceptive advertising to play with the results that way...

Answer:	Yes! The test results showed that my dog had 20% chupacabra DNA but it could be that my dog ate a chupacabra. I’m not 110% sure

Answer:	As per our Terms & Conditions, users may request their DNA sample to be destroyed. We can only do so after the results are uploaded - destroying a DNA sample at the lab will not affect the online results. However, once a DNA sample is destroyed, there will be no option to retest the sample. Question:	It says you need an Ancestry account. Do you have to pay for their online site
Answer:	No, you don't have to pay, yet again, to see your results. If you want to see how you relate to other people via your DNA, yes, you do need a subscription. There is a 50% discount for the first 6 months or so, but you need to ask for it. I found my Father using Ancestry, BTW.
Question:	What happens to your DNA once the test is performed
Answer:	Nothing happens to it. If you are worried about someone somehow getting into the database your account is only identified as a random number. You can also send in the test under a fake name (few in my family did this, used a Pets name the street name) Only downside to doing that is you won’t be able to link to any potential relatives. At the end of the day I know DNA can be obtained from just about anything I touch or use in so if someone really wants it they can get it -shrug-
Question:	Does this kit provide info about genetic snp's like mthfr mutations
Answer:	The AncestryDNA or 23 and Me “Ethnicity + HEALTH” tests DO provide info as to what gene mutations you have and a list of what health issues you are dispositioned for due to said mutation. I, for instance, found out I have the MTHFR gene mutation. I learned who I got it from & some scary stuff, such as, being dispositioned for Schizophrenia and miscarriages (and about 99 more things). It is really hard to find a doctor who knows anything about it. You’d need to visit mthfr(dot)net and research for yourself. Sadly.
Question:	Why should i buy from amazon when there is a disclaimer stating not to because the kit could be rejected
Answer:	What the others above said was correct. It’s sold by Ancestry but shipped by Amazon. (Like most things here. Brands/sellers are selling their item on Amazon & Amazon ships. I just got my results back & my adult son should have his back any day. Super easy process and it’s fun! I was very surprised by mine. 100% Trusted to buy from Amazon. I don't think this answer will help you now since it has been about 11 weeks since your original question and I'm not sure if the saliva DNA is still good after that long, But hopefully this may help someone else who has the same question about their deceased dog. On the DNAmydog.com website they now have a DNA test for deceased dogs for $157. They need anything that the dog chewed on or had oral contact with. chew toys, (unwashed) blankets they chewed on, toothbrush, etc.. Answer:	I submitted the sample on 4.29 and received the results 5.19. My puppy was a rescue, and on our first visit to the vet she guessed he was 8 weeks old and an Akita /Australian Shepherd mix. The Mars test confirmed that he was a first generation cross of those two breeds, so kudos to my vet! (Boo to the sociopath that left my perfect and gorgeous puppy in a dumpster.)
