Step 1: Adjusting the Machine

• Mount the attachments: You need to mount the attachments as the picture shows.
• Adjust the cutting length and width: When estimating the width of two rear rollers, you also need to make sure there is enough space for the square bottle.
• Adjust the blade: Loosen the up screw with the hex wrench, adjust the blade of the cutting wheel, and then tighten it firmly.

Step 2: Etching the Glass

• Place the bottle on the machine with the vertical flat side of the bottle against the straight edges of the front and back attachments.
• Set the blade forward to keep it in contact with the glass corners.
• Apply pressure as you rotate the bottle toward one direction with two hands.
• Set the blade straight up when you are etching the flat surface.Keep it firmly against the backstop and keep it moving while you're making the etching.

Step 3: Separating the Bottle

People often use one of these two methods to separate the bottle. You can choose one of them.

Method A. The Flame Method

This method is most commonly used. A burning candle and an ice cube are required for this method.

Method B. Use Hot and Cold Water

Using this method, you will need to alternate between "almost boiling water" and "cold tap water."

Step 4: Smoothing the Edge

• Rub the inside and outside edges lightly with a piece of coarse polishing paper.
• Sprinkle a small amount of the polishing powder on a flat, hard surface. You can also use a glass or metal pie plate or a piece of window glass.
• Dip the edge of the glass in water and then place it on the polishing surface. Start to grind in a circular motion. After a short time, the edge of the glass will become perfectly flat and have a dull, gray appearance.
• Again, smooth the inside and outside edges with the polishing paper.

Steps

1. Put the glass bottle (better wine bottle or beer bottle) on the support to confirm where you want to cut.
2. Install the fixing baffle and the screw to the suitable position. Adjust the wheels. Wear gloves. And align bottle to the cutting knife.
3. Push and rotate the bottle with balanced force with all your hands.
4. Put 2 rubber rings on both sides of the cutting line on the bottle.(The optimal distance between the two rubber rings is less than 1CM)
5. Rinse alternately with boiling water and cold water(each time for more than 40 seconds) to the cutting line between the 2 rubber rings, until the bottle separates (If the bottle doesn’t separate, please repeat the 5th step. NOTE: please use enough hot water, preferably boiling water).
6. Rubbing the cutting surface with sanding paper.

NOTE:

1. Make sure that both hands rotate the bottle at the same time to get a flat line while cutting and not letting the boiling water overflow between the two rubbers band while pouring(The optimal distance between the two rubber rings is less than 1CM). Otherwise the edge of the bottle may not be so flat.
2. Please clean up the residual label before cutting the bottle (the glue on the label will shorten the life of the cutter head).
3. In order to protect the cutting blade, you can use the cutter oil regularly after a long time of use.

Answer:	You are supposed to log onto their website and watch a video. The video makes it look clean, easy and efficient. I tried to cut five or six bottles and it didn't work so I sent it back.

Answer:	Our Glass bottle cutter is mainly for round bottles, but it can be applicable square and oval bottles as well. The only "trick" is that you need to do a lot practice to gain a bit of experience with the craft itself before you go for square bottles. You had to be very skilled to go around the edges, Good luck with that!

Question:	Can I buy a replacement blade? Mine must have fallen out, and I didn't realize until I went to use it right now
Answer:	Yes they are already attached but they are adjustable. My particular kit came with a small screwdriver that was needed to loosen and adjust the support wheel location but only in our out on the same track. Very helpful with different size bottles.

Answer:	I haven’t needed them yet but I would start with Fixm’s website.
Question:	Hi, Can it cut 3 liter wine bottles
Answer:	The cut is a typical glass cut in that the material is scored by the glass-cutter and then the bottle is shocked by a rapid temp change or a physical shock and the glass cracks along the scored line (hopefully). The "cutline" is a typical glass cut line and may have a sharp edge that should be sanded to reduce the possibility of cuts if the object is handled.
Question:	how does this item compare to the bindu cutter
Answer:	It can be done but so far I have not been impressed with the results. I can do a better job with a homemade jig that fits the bottle i want to cut. The cutter is designed to work with round bottles and while it can be forced to work with some other shapes the results are not worth the effort for me.
