Answer:	I'm not sure about these bails, but in general, stainless steel does contain some nickel--percentage varies. I think you'll have to contact the manufacturer to find out. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Answer:	My chain that I got the bales for is about 7mm or smidge under 1/4" very chunky and heavy, so yes it would work, except their stainless steel bales not sterling silver. Sterling is a lighter color and more reflective metal, where stainless steel is a deeper shade, not as bright, more resembling platinum.
Question:	I have a 9mm curb chain but the pinch clip bail clasp on this chain does not give the pendant any room to move. Do u think think this size will fit
