| Answer: | I bought the black colored laces. At first glance, the texture of the laces looks like it may be cotton fiber, because it doesn't have a "shiny" appearance that is usually associated polyester / synthetic fiber. However, when I look at the laces, up close, there appears to be very fine and shiny fibers woven through the laces. So it may be a cotton poly blend at the very least -- that is my best guess (short of "burning" one of the laces to ascertain whether it's cotton or synthetic fiber). I am guessing your question is trying to determine the durability of the laces during use and wear. I've only been using my laces for about three months. At the moment, the laces seem to holding up very well. I did a lot of searching around Amazon for the right shoe laces, took a chance on these, and I am happy with my purchase. On another note, these are indeed a full 1/8" thick, which was a touch thicker than the laces they replaced on my shoes. |
