Remove Screw with Phillips Screwdriver

Open the unit by removing the two mesh filters and locate the switch in the middle of the fan unit. Remove the screw with a Phillips screwdriver.

Change Switch Position

Answer:	Hi John, I am not sure at what heat it will turn on however it does have a thermostat which will turn on the fan or increase the fan speed from low to high when excessive heat is detected. I think it may be best to contact the manufacturer to ask what temperature threshold it is configured to turn on. I was able to find more information on the HEAT SENTRY system at Broan's Website in the instructions manual on page 3. Mostly the range hood noise is the sound of air whooshing the steam away. The blower exhausts the air out, sucking the nearby air to one direction. For example, the house fan has bigger noise at higher speed, the sound is from the air collision, not the motor. High speed air collision is the cause of the powerful range hood.

What if we move the air collision from the kitchen area to above the ceiling? Answer:	Mine sits 2 1/4” from the stove to the bottom of the cover on the sides so it does sit above the stove, not on it. I love it. I’d try it and if it doesn’t work just return it.

Answer:	No. I do not use it for cutting. It would become a big mess. I use other surfaces for cutting so this stays nice.

Answer:	I bought this because my smooth cooktop got warm while the oven was in use. The airspace this provides (about 1 1/2 ") is excellent for circulation between stovetop and cover. I use it to place my induction burners on, and do not use my stovetop at all. the wood top doesn't even get warm while baking in my oven.
Question:	Can this blower work with a broan downdraft vent? Also can it be mounted horizontally
Answer:	Hi, I just measured it for you. The 4 feet on the sides lift the bamboo stove 1 3/4 inches above. My gas stove has 4 large metal burners that are 1" tall and this bamboo cover easily fits overtop. The measurement between the legs is 26"x17" at its widest measturement, but realize that the 4 feet can be moved independently, they are not stationary. Measurement for the entire cover is 29.5"x21". There is a lot of extra room left over for the burners. The wood itself is 3/4" thick.

If Broan only have 1 hot, 1 neutral and 1 ground, then its speeds might be adjusted through Voltage or Frequency, this isn't compatible with this blower unit. Answer:	Depends primarily on heat source. Common recommendation for range hoods: Distance for high-heat gas burners at least 36" or commercial 42+." Normal gas stove-top 30" to 36." Electric/conduction produces less ambient heat, so 24" to 32." This manufacturer recommends 39" to 42", which allows for high-heat gas burners--I read that as 3" above common recommendations, so 39+" for gas w/high output burners, 33+" for older gas w/o high burners, 27"+ for electric burners. Also, add at least another 3" if you have wood enclosure around hood.
