Korg electribe
The new Korg electribe is a powerhouse of sound, functionality, and hands-on features geared towards the creation of all types of EDM. Compact, robust, and laid out with seamless workflow in mind, electribe puts the power of production in everyone’s hands. A whopping 16 parts are available per pattern, and users can choose from an expansive collection of analog models or ready-made PCM waveforms in any combination, and all can be customized with tremendous ease.
Create either in real-time or step-by-step, add dedicated effects per part, finish off your production with master effects, record filter tweaks and other gestures, add instant phrases or arpeggios via the on-board touch pad; and on and on.
Ready to work 'outside the box?' One of the most exciting features of the new electribe is its relationship with the incredible Ableton Live DAW software. electribe can export each part within a pattern to a dedicated .wav file, and generates an Ableton Live Set (.als) file that puts your pattern directly into Abelton Live; completely laid-out, track-by-track, and ready to serve as the basis for additional music creation!
Sequencer mode
This mode is ideal for inputting rhythm. You can step-record by using the 16 trigger pads which correspond to 16 steps. This method makes it easy to see the timing of the notes, and can also be used for editing after realtime recording.
Synth engine
The sound engine of the electribe provides 55 types of analog modeling oscillator, giving you a high degree of flexibility to quickly create sounds. You can choose from simple waveforms such as Saw, Pulse, Triangle, and Sine, or more complex varieties such as Sync, Ring Mod, Cross Mod, and VPM.
Groove function

By selecting a groove type for each part and adjusting its dynamics, you can create a natural-sounding rhythmic feel that's liberated from the 16-step grid.
Step sequencer
The electribe allows you to input up to 64 steps (16 steps x 4) for each part (sound). You can create beats by combining up to 16 of these parts per sequence pattern.

DrumBrute Analog Drum Machine. With the vast majority of the past few decades' drum machine designs largely being emulations of the great machines that have gone before, Arturia’s introduction of a fully analog hardware drum machine with organic, integral sound creation is a major event. The DrumBrute is firmly rooted in the classic drum machines, but it builds upon these traditions in terms of superior audio specifications and lower noise floor than the rhythm composers that paved the way. It also features far greater versatility in sound generation and programming options than the classic machines ever had. The DrumBrute offers seventeen true analog sounds, unique performance effects, a modern step sequencer, tremendous ease of use and state-of-the-art connectivity. It bridges the old world with the new, and leaves a wide-open palette of parameter-level sound creation, programming and synchronization options. Sound The sound of DrumBrute is based on the best classic analog drum machines. Sound profiles were created from the past but then the circuits were designed to build up DrumBrute’s own much-beloved and well established sound signature. Individual tones include two styles of kick drums, a wide-ranging snare and clap setting, two hi hats with tone and separate decay times, reverse cymbal, zap and more. Experience DrumBrute is designed to give musicians the same great hands-on experience they get from other award-winning Brute instruments. If you are already familiar with the Brute-style interface niceties, you will slide into using this drum machine with the greatest ease. If not, prepare yourself for a workflow of unprecedented efficiency and utility. All sound parameters can be changed instantly and set with the intuitive interface. User questions & answers
Question: | Do you need every output connected? Its 12 cables. In the picture of djs using it they dont seem to have alloutputs connected. Can someoneplease help |
Answer: | Those 12 outputs are for routing or recording the different pieces in isolation. If none of the individual outputs are used, all sounds go through the single mix output. |
Question: | Is it a 1/4" mix output, and could i plug it into an rca splitter to a mixer in a vinyl turntable setup |
Answer: | Yes it is 1/4" output. As long as you have a 1/4" to use (or an adapter to change 1/4" to RCA) then sure it would work fine. |
Question: | can i sample music with this equipment |
Answer: | Nope - This is a drum machine that does not have any sampling capabilities. :) |
Question: | Can this drum machine be connected to the computer? Is their a program for that |
Answer: | Yes. It can be connected to a computer via USB. Is there an app that lets you program the drums?... Kinda. It has to be done using MIDI on the computer over USB. So any MIDI program should be able to trigger and play this drum machine from the computer. Mostly this would be a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) program like Abelton Live, Reaper, FL Studio, Reason, Logic Pro, etc... There are also several MIDI sequencer programs on the market that are designed specifically to trigger drum machines. |

Straight out of the box, the BeatBuddy comes with 200 "songs" (the collection of beats for multiple parts of a song, including intros/outros, fills, transition beats, verses, chorus, etc.) in 21 genres. There are also ten included drum sets that can play those songs. By default, each song is associated with the drum set it's "supposed" to be played on, but you can play Latin beats on a heavy metal drum set and techno beats on a hand drum set. It's simple to find what you're looking for, but there's a huge playground of opportunity to explore. The songs come in a wide variety of time signatures, mostly 4/4, 3/4, 5/4, and 6/8, but there are others. There's even a special folder for very odd time signatures -- things for the most musically eccentric ...or curious. The BeatBuddy makes it easy to perfect your timing or learn new time signatures with the Visual Metronome. A shaded bar moves across the screen in accordance with the time signature and tempo, so you know exactly how many beats there are in the measure, where you are in the measure, and when the measure will end -- and you can see this visually. It's an invaluable tool when it comes to tightening your chops. But all that's straight out of the box, no programming necessary. If you're the type who likes creating your own beats, or if you have friends or websites you can get more beats from, you can import MIDI files from GarageBand, Ableton, Cubase, or any of your preferred programs into the BeatBuddy Manager software, arrange those files into new songs, and load them onto your BeatBuddy. You can also load WAV files into the software to create new drum sets. |
Question: | Would i be able to plug this into a digital interface and record the drum beat into a daw? how would that be done |
Answer: | You would be able to. You'd even be able to sync both, the DAW and the BeatBuddy via MIDI if you had a proper audio interface. You'll need an audio interface with TRS 1/4 inch inputs to record the sound into the DAW. For the sync part you'll need a MIDI adapter for the BeatBuddy (an extra 15 bucks) and USB MIDI adapter for your PC also (usually run for about 20 bucks). Some interfaces (like the Tascam US-122L for example) are both: audio and MIDI interface at once which would allow you to sync the tempo and record the BB through the same device. |

Not All Great Drummers Are Human
So while you play your instrument, you also have control over the drums.

Visual Metronome
The moving line shows which beat is currently playing in the measure. (A 3/4 beat will have three lines, a 4/4 beat will have four lines, etc.).
Choose Your Own Drum Set
Your thrash beats sound awesome on the metal kit, but you might want to play them with brushes or even on a hand drum.
