Question:	Are these as good on quality as the Shimano
Answer:	I have two sets of Shimano A520 on a couple of bikes and there is some difference in catch and release than the Venzo: the Shimano is smoother. The Venzo are ok and if you're looking for less expensive dual sided pedals these work (A520 are single tho' a decent size platform). I'm ok with recommending these but only with a bit of caution. So much will depend on you and your needs and technique (mine are on a recumbent tadpole trike and the method of clicking into clipless is different than an upright bicycle. I'm not a believer in a blanket Shimano are best; I've had their products disappoint me but the A520s have been trouble free for some years now. I don't recall how many brands of dual sided I looked at but I usually look long and hard so Venzo must have impressed me enough to buy them.

Many cycling shoes have a rigid sole with one or more holes through them to allow mounting the SPD cleats to the bottom (screws inside shoe). If you have these special cycling shoes and mount the cleats, the sticker would cover the screws and extra holes so the shoe liner doesn't get tore up.

Answer:	9/16"-20 is the standard for bicycle pedal threads, left hand thread on the left side to prevent backing out under precession. These follow that convention.Old one-piece steel cranks sometimes have 1/2"-20 threads.Most pedals use 15mm open end wrenches to install. These do, and also take a 6mm allen wrench (although the recess looks a little shallow for putting a lot of torque into it, it is still nice for an on-road tightening, if necessary.

Answer:	YES of course! I have clipless on one side and old rat traps or clips on the other side for those days when I am lazy and dont want to change shoes for a quick 10 minuite fast spin.

Answer:	if you roll your foot from front to rear, the PLATFORM is up. If you push/drag your foot from rear to front, you get the CLEAT. So, you get to pick with these. Fresh out of the box, they don't naturally 'drop', but once you get 10-15 miles on them... the 'rear' of the pedal drops so that you get the proper action. If it won't... you need to have them re-lubed, overhauled (e.g. new balls), and the seals inspected. Also, there is a special tool for these to get the bearing pre-load correct. If you do not have the tool (shimano part# for the tool is on the datasheet for these pedals at shimano.com), do not disassemble them--You will not be able to re-assemble them. (if you do disassemble them, try your best to get them back 'together' and head to your LBS, they may preload and tighten them for you, or order the tool for you.)

Answer:	Just make sure the shoes you get have the two mount holes in the bottom for the cleats. Most road bike shoes use a three hole mount system for the cleats on the bottom of the shoe. Most mountain bike shoes I've seen are correct for these cleats.

ADJUSTABLE TENSION

The cleats tension can be adjusted by the screws on the side of the pedal. It allows riders to achieve perfect clip in and out feelings.
