Answer:	USB sticks definitely work and I imagine as long as the external drive is powered it should also work.

Answer:	Ok...just thought I would share this though I think its more of a 'work around' than an actual permanent solution to the problem. Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 software version 8.2.0 (latest) Disney+ app version 1.10 (latest) Still no HDR nor Atmos available when trying to play content that should support it. Only HD and 5.1 available. But the fix and/or work around was this. Go to: Settings --> Device Preferences --> Display & Sound --> Resolution It was set at the top option: "4k 59.940Hz (default)". I had set it to the third option: "4k 23.976Hz HDR10 Ready" Once I set this option, I was able to get the Disney+ content in HDR and Dolby Atmos without issue. However the reason I think this might be more of a work around than a fix is because my Sony XBR75X800G 'should' be able to support 4k 59.940Hz. It doesn't have Dolby Vision (though I wish it did. :( ) but does support HDR10. Anyway, hope this little piece of information is helpful to some. If anyone has any additional info as to why this is or anything new that might be a better solution, I would love to hear it. Thanks!

Answer:	The new “ Pro” version has the same 3GB RAM with 16Gb internal storage as the previous Shield TV model but includes dual USB 3.0 ports to add external storage. The previous “Pro” model with 500GB internal HDD appears to be gone now.

Answer:	Netflix on the new SHIELDs (2019) now supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The new SHIELDs also support playback of local Dolby Vision content using Photos & Videos, Kodi, and Plex YouTube on the new SHIELDs supports 4K video, but does not support HDR at this time.

Answer:	I used a 4-bay external HDD drive by ICY DOCK. 2 HHDs are 8TB. 1 HDD is 10TB. All drives were recognized by Shield TV. However, you will NOT be able to write to any external drives that are connected to Shield TV unless you choose to allow Shield TV to adopt the drive (this will erase all media on the drive first). There are some workarounds that require some tweaking to write to the drives without adopting, but YMMV.

Answer:	Yes, the $208 version just adds the $20 plastic stand.

Answer:	the new smaller $199 version has no SD slot. the new $299 pro model (with 500GB hard drive) still has SD Slot and USB ports original model had. Both models come with both updated game controller with headset port and the remote. BOTH models have Android nougat or 7.0, which has Multitasking (at last)! We call finally put our multicore processors to work, running additional apps at sametime and one press switch from one to the other!

Answer:	I am looking at and trying both bumpers/triggers on my Xbox One and the new Nvidia Controller. What I can say...Alot. The LB and RB on the Nvidia are so much smaller but they are not as soft to press (mushy) as the Xbox One controller. So LB/RB winner for not being mushy is Nvidia 2017 controller. Next. The Left Trigger and Right Trigger on the Xbox One controller is more curved for your digits, but is so much mushier than most would care for. Winner of LT/RT is the Nvidia Controller. Nvidia 2 to 0 Microsoft. But the dang Nvidia Controller still does not work on my Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet... Come on Nvidia.

Answer:	Thanks for the non answer Juan. You SHOULD, but right now Geoforce Experience does not support the new controller. The GeForce Forums states there is an update in Q1 2017 that will add wireless and wired support for PC's. Kinda sucky they sell a product that doesn't do what's advertised until future updates.

Question:	Does The RT have Office
Answer:	Yes
Question:	Would this Surface work for a college student for writing papers and such? I've heard that the RT isn't good for that
Answer:	I purchased mine for that exact purpose and I'm currently writing this with my Surface RT. If you're willing to spend the money to get one of the touch or type cover keyboards to go with it, it's not much different from using a regular laptop. It came with Microsoft word and excel (etc) already installed which was fantastic. I would highly recommend the type cover, it feels just like a normal keyboard. The only downside is that you are unable to download programs through a web browser. You can still get apps through the app store but I couldn't download things like Google chrome which is sort of a bummer. All in all, it's affordable, light, small, and works great for web browsing and writing papers.
Question:	Can you load and run Quicken on it
Answer:	No you cannot. This is the RT version that uses a different "lightweight" processor that only allows apps to be installed from Microsoft's App Store. You will need the non "RT" version to install your standard Windows programs

Answer:	No lag on my shield with emulation of nes - Psx. Lag on remote play causes some sound to stutter or cut out buy that could be my PC or network.

Answer:	The GPU is an Nvidia GeForce ULP (Ultra Low Power) with a total of 72 cores (48 pixel shader cores, 24 vertex shader cores) and 4 graphics pipelines."Tegra 4" is the name of the SoC (system on a chip), which contains the CPU, GPU, memory controller and I/O controller.
Question:	Is there a Micro SD card port to add content (music files, etc.); and could I download to the console from Google Play, etc
Answer:	Yes. There is a micro SD card port in the back that supports up to 32 Gb.64 GB microSD comes with exFAT format that is not supported on any android system.If you want to use 64Gb, you need to format the 64 GB microSD card to FAT32 using your PC or Mac computer.
Question:	storage capacity
Answer:	To use a 64 or 128 GB microSD card, format it to "FAT32" on your computer, then copy all your desired music and video to your card before putting it into the Shield. Prior to Android 4.4 (KitKat), you could use ordinary network protocols to copy these files wirelessly.

Question:	Can you upgrade the gigabyte capacity
Answer:	The device does have a microSD card slot. You can insert up to 128GB microSD card for extra storage.
Question:	Does it come with the stylus or do I need to purchase that separately
Answer:	This one is not the 'K1", it's the 2014 original version. That has a stylus place built in but the seller is clever because the he/she says the "K1 processor" and as far as I know they both run on the same processor. What I have found in my little bit of research is that the K1 came out as a less expensive version and I think part of the cost savings is because there aren't chargers and accessories. But many people have the standard android charge cables at home.
Question:	Is there something this can't do that other tablets can? I can access all apps on Google Play with this right? This isn't like a Kindle Fire is it
Answer:	So far of all of the Google Play apps that my 2013 nexus 7 ran - I've only had trouble with one(dolphin browser, and hopefully I will get it working). Very close experience to using a nexus/"Googleplay edition" device.
Question:	Why is this nearly $90 more on Amazon than elsewhere? Is there something extra included
Answer:	Originally came in a 16gb wifi vs a 32gb wifi LTE version, with about a 90$ price difference. Now you can only find the 32gb used for 350 due to demand for original. The going price for the 16gb current "K1" version (same screaming processor as before, no competition in performance today), is about 199, and it only comes in 16gb. Be sure to read the specs.

Question:	will this work on the Alienware Alpha when it comes out
Answer:	As long as you install GeForce experience (the controller needs drivers), yes. Note that it only works as a wired controller for PC.
Question:	The new Galaxy Tab/Note Pro tablets do have wifi direct... does this controller work with them? has anyone tried
Answer:	It only works with the SHIELD Tablet and SHIELD Portable. It requires drivers that no other android devices have. I have tested this with my Motorola DROID Ultra, which also has WiFi Direct, and it did not work.
Question:	can i use this control with the pc game
Answer:	no.. unless your streaming the PC game to the tablet
Question:	Will I also be able to use it with my PC
Answer:	You can use it on a PC equipped with an nvidia graphics card. Just install geforce experience and plug it in with the USB cord and it will work like an xbox360 controller. It does not support Wireless on PC.
