| Answer: | Sorry for taking so long to respond but yes, you don't need a game system to use this keyboard as a MIDI controller. It does not make sound on its own but will easily control any synth with a traditional 5 pin MIDI in since this device has a traditional 5 pin MIDI out. The only issue I found is that you can control either modulation or pitch bend with the ribbon controller but a button needs to be engaged to make it work. It's not entirely easy to use but it does work. There are dedicated buttons to shift they keyboard up and down an octave as well. All in all, it's a great, very inexpensive MIDI controller but again, it does not make any sound but needs to be connected to an external synth. Let me know if you have any other questions. |
