3 best balance bike for kid
A balance bike is a type of bicycle designed for young children to help them develop balance and coordination skills before transitioning to a traditional pedal bike. Here are some key points related to balance bikes and their relevance to children's toys and games:
Design: Balance bikes are typically small, lightweight bicycles without pedals. They have a low frame and two wheels, similar to a regular bicycle, but lack a drivetrain with pedals and a chain.
Purpose: The main purpose of a balance bike is to help children learn how to balance on two wheels and steer effectively. They are an excellent tool for preparing kids to ride a regular bicycle without training wheels.
Age Range: Balance bikes are suitable for children as young as 18 months to around 5 or 6 years old, depending on the child's size and development.
Benefits:
- Balance: Children learn to balance by using their feet to push off the ground and coast. This helps them gain confidence and stability.
- Coordination: Riding a balance bike encourages the development of motor skills and coordination.
- Transition to Pedal Bikes: Children who start with a balance bike often transition to pedal bikes without the need for training wheels, making the learning process smoother.
Safety: Balance bikes are generally considered safe for young children since they can put their feet down to stop themselves. However, it's still important for kids to wear appropriate safety gear, such as helmets and knee pads.
Adjustability: Many balance bikes are designed to be adjustable, allowing you to raise or lower the seat height to accommodate a growing child.
Materials: Balance bikes are typically made from lightweight materials like aluminum or steel to make them easy for children to handle.
Variety: There is a wide variety of balance bikes available on the market, with different designs, colors, and features to suit various preferences.
Maintenance: Balance bikes are relatively low-maintenance compared to traditional bikes since they lack pedals and chains.
In summary, balance bikes are a valuable tool for helping young children develop the skills they need to ride a regular bicycle independently. They offer a safe and fun way for kids to learn balance and coordination, making them a popular choice among parents and caregivers as a toy and tool for early childhood development.

User questions & answers
Question: | whats the difference ST |
Answer: | Radio flyer makes two versions of this balance bike, one with air tires and one with foam tires. This is the listing for the one with air tires. However Amazon sent me the wrong one the first time. In my opinion the air tires are much nicer - they give more traction and a smother ride, especially if it will be used on uneven road. The foam tires and okay because they don't need upkeep but they are slippy (definitely not good for indoor use) and get rocks and things embedded in them easily. |
Question: | How much does it weigh? What age group is it geared for |
Answer: | I suppose it could, but the way the seat is facing makes it more like an easy 180 degree - I cannot remember if the seat easily swivels to make it around 360. Either way, my son & his friends are still obsessed with this toy. One of our best purchases! |
Question: | Is the Sport worth the $20 upgrade over the Classic version? Is this bike good for a child 36 inches tall |
Answer: | The seat does not turn but the digger itself turns 180o ,dumps sand and snow....my little buddy loves it !!! |
Question: | What is the actual height from ground to seat top? it says 18m-5y but it would be more helpful to just know the lowest seat height!\ |
Answer: | 350 lbs? Ya, this should work out great for him. Big plus is it will most likely become permanently imbedded in him for fun anytime, anyplace. |

How to Measure Your Child's Stand-Over Height
- What size bike should I get my child? Easy, the best size bike for your kiddo is the bike that fits them from day one. The best way to do that is measure their inseam.
- Yeah, but what about their age? Age is more like... an approximate fit. Inseam is an exact fit, trust us.
- Okay, got it. What's an inseam? Good question. Inseam is the distance between the ground and crotch.
- So, why is this inseam babble so important? We're all different heights and shapes, even when we're the same age. This is especially true with kids because they grow like crazy. By measuring inseam, you're making sure that your child's bike has the perfect fit.
- Right, how exactly do I measure this? Have your child stand up really straight with with their shoes on and back to a wall. Place a book between their legs and slide it up the wall to meet the crotch seam of their pants, just like they were sitting on a bike saddle. Measure from the top of the book to the floor and.... Bingo ! You have your inseam.
- THE BEST WAY TO LEARN TO RIDE - A balance bike provides a safer, faster way to learn to ride a bike by letting your child master balance and steering first in a distraction-free way. Once they're comfortable gliding on a balance bike, riding a pedal bike becomes easy.
- WARRANTY - If at all you are not satisfied with the bike, or even the results, please let us know. We will 100% buy back the balance bike from you. With the 100% guarantee, we will fix or replace defective parts as well.
- SAFETY A MUST - Along with providing the best balance bike at the fairest price, we ensure that each bike is crafted with your child's safety in mind. All clamps are tamper proof, both wheels are equipped with safety washers and each frame is built with the capacity to far exceed the weight of the largest children.
- DESIGNED FOR EVERY CHILD - This balance bike is perfect for kids who are just starting to ride a bike, kids with special needs or challenges, and even experienced riders who enjoy testing their limits.
- SIMPLE SET UP - Each bike comes partially assembled. The wheels are securely attached and ready to ride. Just slide the seat and handlebars in the right position for your child, clamp it down with the wrench provided, inflate the tires and you're good to go.
User questions & answers
Question: | How heavy is this bike |
Answer: | Nope, my 12 yr old daughter doesn't fit. Not enough leg room. I got it for my 3yr old and was hoping my 12 yr could ride with him but she's too big. It's really small, smaller than than the pictures look. |
Question: | My daughter is 42 inches tall. Will this be a good balance bike for her height? Or will it be too tall for her to reach the floor |
Answer: | Don't know it was a replacement |
Question: | Weve been waiting over a week for the new stock to be posted on there website& thats not a good sign.whats going on |
Answer: | It does not come with a hub for the disc that needs to be found and bought separately. |
Question: | Can pedals be added to balance bikes |
Answer: | It is a disk brake system. Stopping power depends on tire tread, traction footprint and many other things. Disk brakes have the ability to stop a 420cc buggy, go-kart, quad or other. Just not the only consideration. |
