Answer:	Specific to this model. If you are considering a rival, I would choose another model. I bought this one thinking it would be easier for my youngest son but one didn’t was almost like jammed and didn’t work right out of the box, amazon replaced it and the replacement literally lasted less than 24 hours then the same thing happened. We didn’t try for a third. We’ve have numerous (too many to count) nerf guns in our home and have never had issues even with the battery operated ones so I’d say maybe the engineering of this model isn’t the best.

Answer:	It's just fine for an 11 yr old. I just purchased it for my 6yr old, just to level the playing field a bit with her older brother. Mine came with a bad motor though.
