Answer:	There isn’t an arch support and they are pretty stable. That was the main reason for the purchase. My husband needed a stable footing getting on and off the boat (he has slipped too many times). They provide him with a better step than any other shoe included traditional boatshoes! We have since purchased him 2 additional pairs! I’m waiting to see if they will be machine washable! I hope this helps!
