Like nearly all modern high output LEDs it will work for some time even when operation at high temperatures, but this will greatly shorten it's life. Naturally if you run it at a lower voltage it will run cooler. If you can't heatsink it, test it at various voltages and find the voltage that it will run cool at. If you need a lot of light run multiple panels at a lower voltage. It's more efficient to do this anyway as LEDs lose efficiency at higher voltages. |
