Dragon Armor is releasing another mightily impressive 1/72 scale VK.45.02(P)H prototype. It has the Porsche turret, which was later assigned to the Tiger II, mounted well to the rear of the hull producing a most unique profile. The model is finished in a typical late-war camouflage scheme of two colors, this being punctuated by the barest of extra markings in the form of Balkenkreuz. The VK.45.02(P) is beautifully painted and weathered and the detail on the heavy tank prototype is very complete. This Porsche prototype offers collectors something new and different to add to their panzer forces.

‘Bumble Bee' might seem an unusual nickname for a self-propelled howitzer, but that is what the Germans initially called their 15cm sFH 18 L/30 howitzer mounted on a Panzer IV chassis. The Sd.Kfz.165 Hummel, of which 714 were produced from late 1942 onwards, was created because of an urgent need for artillery that could keep pace with Germany's panzers during WWII. Interestingly, the prototype of the Hummel was originally fitted with a 10.5cm leFH18 gun, the weapon that eventually found its way onto the Wespe that was based on the Panzer II chassis. Dragon's newest 1/35 scale kit shows this "Hummel-Wespe" le Pz. Haub auf Hummel Fahrgestell armed with the 10.5cm howitzer.

Last year Dragon released a stunning 1/72 scale plastic kit of Panzerfähre Prototype Nr.I and it justly received international recognition by winning the "MODELL FAN" award in 2012. That kit is now being joined by another identically scaled model, this time depicting Prototype Nr.II. It's destined to be just as hot. The Panzerfähre (abbreviated to ‘PzF') was an amphibious tractor conveniently based on the chassis of a Panzer IV Ausf.F tank. Development of the Panzerfähre began in early 1941 and by mid-1942 Magirus had delivered two prototypes. The lightly armored, fully tracked vehicle had a boat-like bow and a propeller at the stern. The amphibian's main function was combat supply on land and in water. It could tow an amphibious trailer, or alternatively it could work in tandem with another Panzerfähre as a floating ferry platform capable of carrying a 24-ton load. However, because heavier tanks were appearing on the scene, the PzF never went into production because of its inadequate payload. The new 1/72 scale kit makes clever use of parts from Dragon's Panzer IV models – for example, the wheels, suspension and tracks. Many aspects are obviously shared with the earlier PzF Nr.I kit, with changes inserted where necessary for the later vehicle. Details such as hull rivets are delicately rendered, while slide molds are widely used to improve the quality of molding. Modelers will thus find that it assembles easily. The kit includes the craft itself but not the ferry pontoon. The finished item is a spectacular vehicle and the smaller scale allows space for modelers to place it in a suitable diorama showing a river or riverbank.

In order to survive the increasing demands of battlefield operations, it has undergone numerous upgrades and improvement throughout the past 30 years. First produced in the Warren Army tank plant, Detroit, Michigan, U. S. A. in October 1963, the type M60A1 variant has been acknowledged one of the masterpieces in U. S. armor history. Major improvements found in the A1 version was the M68 105mm main gun, which was mounted in a sleek wedge-shaped monobloc-cast turret. The U. S. Marines, who currently operate he M60A1 tank, have opted not to upgrade it to the A3 version because of plans to employ the M1A1 Abrams main battle tank. However, they did install the state-of-the-art reactive armor array on their M60's for improved survivability against shaped-charge missiles and shells, calling the tank an M60A1 + (plus). The externally mounted reactive armor (ERA) used on the M60A1 + tanks is a bolt-on kit, that is spaced away from the main armor, adding additional dead air space for increased protection. This largely newly-tooled model (only machine gun and clear parts are taken over from existing models) gives it the glorious detail of the larger 1/35 scale.The astonishing success of German armor tactics in 1940 prompted U.S. forces to adopt a doctrine requiring dedicated new tank destroyers to counter them. After going down a few different design routes at the start of the process, they eventually hit upon the highly successful M10 design with well-sloped (if rather thin, to keep the vehicle light and maneuverable) armor plate, and the highly capable 3-inch (76.2mm) gun. Over 4,900 were produced, and took part in Operation Torch (the invasion of N.
