Answer:	Dear Customer, it is 30x magnifying glass. When you use the magnifying, the distance between magnifying glass and books or others will affect the real magnifying looking.

Answer:	The product box shows "made in China." The product light is good, high intensity. But the product is heavier than similar devices.

Answer:	The product descriptions on says "Materials: ABS+Double Glass Lens." ABS is a thermoplastic polymer molded into the frame and handle, not the lens! I simply DO NOT understand why a couple of people replied with "acrylic lens" and "plastic."

Answer:	From Wikipedia, you can find the following formula for magnification power: [MA] = (25cm)/(f) + 1 Solving for f, you would need a focal length of 8.6mm. Magnifying glasses only work if the object is closer than one focal length. This would make the magnifying glass completely impractical, and is quite obviously not true. Summary: it's not possible to have a single lens that can magnify at 30x and be of any practical use.

This is additive to the diopter measurement of your eye (which changes with age) so if your eye currently is capable of 1.0 diopter, you add this to that to get a new strength of 2.0 diopters. So yes all of these lenses do indeed magnify.

Answer:	In my case the distance is from the eye. For the 2X lens the distance for me is 10 to 12 inches and varies slightly depending on the angle of the lens on the visor. I think the distance will vary Slightly from person to person depending on the status of your vision.

Answer:	I think so. The magnification is truly 5x for large lens and 10x for smaller lens and it was the best magnifiers that I bought for coin collecting and I have tried the cheaper ones and they are worthless. With the 5x lens I was able to easily see dates on my penny collection. This is a good buy!

Answer:	The length of the flexible part of the neck is about 12". With the non-flexible portions at the top and bottom it is about 15". When the neck is bent as high up as possible just so that the light/magnifying part is parallel to a table top and the rest of the neck is straight it has a height of about 14 1/2" when it is attached to the table base.

The Lightview is really lightweight and is simple to put together. It comes with only four pieces that snap into place with each other easily, and also includes a simple instruction diagram to show how the parts fit together.

Answer:	This just happened to us this week. The batteries aren’t touching each other like they should. Go in and pull the connectors on each end out so the batteries are in there tighter and voila, light!

Answer:	I think its user error. Its actually just hard to use. It takes work to get it to focus. I have one now that clips to cell phone camera. Under 15 bucks. Its way better I can zoom in take pics etc.

Answer:	The only quibble I have with this magnifying glass is that, unless one is looking straight down through the middle, there is some distortion on the outer periphery of the visual field. Answer:	the 30x was just about useless - too much distortion. I ended up buying a 10x lighted magnifier and was very pleased with that power and now I can read the fine print
