SKYJO – This is the name of the new and exciting game from the publisher Magilano, promising fun and entertainment for many evenings to come. In card game SKYJO the goal is to collect as few points as possible over the course of several turns as after every round every player’s points are counted and added to his score. As soon as a player reaches 100 points or more the player with the fewest points wins. Collecting the fewest points means to look for low or even negative numbers. Further excitement is added by several special rules, which for example make it possible to remove several cards (and with it points) from the game – this can lead to unexpected turns. This motivates daring decisions that might even come back to bite, if the other players can counter faster than expected.
What is needed to play? Enough space for 12 cards in front of each player. A positive side effect: When playing, your hands are free, so you can count points or eat snacks. As the game rules are quite easy, small talk during your turns is no problem.
- Educational Gaming: Train arithmetic and concentration skills
- No directly competitive game: Every player plays for himself and there is no way to directly “harm” other players
- Hands free: The cards stay on the table and do not need to kept in one’s hands
Recommendation:
● Suitable as family, adult, kids, travel and holiday game as well as birthday present and easter gift
● At least two players or more, the more players the more fun the game is
● Especially suited for children:
- YOUR GOAL: Try to get as few points as possible through flipping, trading and collecting cards over the course of several rounds. This is only possible as long as a player has not uncovered all his cards, because then ends a round. So beware, keep a close eye on the game and be cautious and wary of the other player's actions!
- LOTS OF FUN for your friends and family. SKYJO is an entertaining card game that is lots of fun for kids and even older game enthusiasts (adults).
- FAST GAME START: Easy to learn game rules! Includes a short manual with pictures. Ideal for a short game in-between other activities and as staple game for exciting evenings. A turn-based and time flexible game.
- EDUCATIONAL GAMING: Count - Adding of up to 100 two-digit numbers. Estimate - Get used to chances. Concentration - Follow the course of the game and other player's turns.
- PLAYERS: For 2 - 8 players. AGE: From age 8 and up. GAME DURATION: about 30 minutes. LANGUAGES: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian. CONTENTS: 150 game cards, 1 game notepad, 1 manual. Made in Germany.
User questions & answers
Question: | do you shuffle cards in between each hand or wait until cards run out |
Answer: | We tend to shuffle the used cards after each hand, but I think you could also just wait until the cards run out. |
Question: | Would 9 and 11 year olds be able to play this |
Answer: | Absolutely. My 8 year old loves it, but it can be a long game so it may not be great for those who lose interest quickly. |
Question: | Can you play this game with just 2 players or is it more difficult with |
Answer: | Yes, you can play with 2 players and it is not more difficult. We do it all the time. My husband and I love this game and our 5 grandchildren love it as well. It is an easy game to teach them and it helps them learn strategic thinking. It's nice because we can help them if they need it since we can see their cards. Ages 4-8 |
Question: | I purchased this game; 3 of us have tried to read the directions and cant figure it out?? Can you give a brief description to help us play the game |
Answer: | The instructions were challenging! 3 people gave up on them before we decided to take it step by step and play it out. I 2nd the YouTube suggestion, that’s how we learn to play most new games we get, but basically: Arrange 12 cards facedown (for every player) in 4 rows of 3. Each player starts by flipping 2 of their cards face up. All other cards are in a draw pile (Flip 1 up for a discard pile, too). The goal is to have the lowest total points at the end of the round, Each player takes a turn...they can either draw from the draw pile or discard pile. If they draw from the discard pile, they must replace it with one of the 12 cards in front of them...either facedown or faceup cards. If they draw from the draw pile, after seeing the card they must decide if they want to keep it or discard it, depending on how high or low the card is (for example, if you have a 12 showing in front of you, and you draw a 2, you definitely want to keep the 2 and would probably replace the 12 you have showing instead of risking an unknown face down card). If you do not keep the card, you discard it but then flip up one of your face down cards. You keep going around the table trying to have the lowest number of points (card value) at the end. Once a person flips over their last facedown card, then everyone else gets 1 more turn and the round is over. 1 fun quirk of the game, if you have the same card in a column of 3 (three 12s in the same column, for example) then you discard the entire column (all three 12s) and those points no longer count against you. We love this game but the instructions were hard to follow at first. Good luck! |

Gameplay
The first person to play off is decided with a roll of the dice. The players roll the die one after the other and move their pawns according to the number they have rolled on the die.
The pawns can move in any direction and across corners but cannot move past a barricade pawn. They can pass over pawns of other colors but only one pawn can occupy a given space. If a pawn ends up in the same space as another pawn, it captures the pawn that was in the space and returns it back to the starting position.
To move past a barricade pawn, the barricade must be captured. The captured barricade must be placed anywhere there is an empty space except the 17 spaces on the bottom row.
So, let the fun times roll. Scroll up and get this Barricade game now. It makes the perfect gift as it not only looks wonderful but also ensures hours of fun and entertainment for all.

User questions & answers
Question: | how many people can play this game at once |
Answer: | The game is set up for 6 players, but we play with a big group. Bought this for our church youth group and they divide into teams. My group is mostly middle school age and they love playing this game. |
Question: | Any examples of how this game is kjv specific (per description)? if my kids aren't familiar with that version, will they enjoy/understand the game |
Answer: | Yes they will enjoy and understand the game. There are series of questions that children can fill in the blank for verses and that's the difference with the KJV and other versions of bibles. Just the wording. The KJV generally uses classic wording such as thee and thought where as newer versions substitute i, you, and we. Also in the NIV, ESV, and some other versions there are verses left out of those bibles that are actually in the KJV. |
Question: | Can someone give examples of some of the questions |
Answer: | OT What happened to Lot's wife near Sodom? Who shot an arrow to warn David to flee?NT To what place did Peter and John race? What did Jesus wear which was made of thorns? |
Question: | Are the questions from old and new testament, or mostly old testament? Thanks |
Answer: | Both. It's a great game! My children have played it over and over and now they memorized the questions and learned so much more about the bible. I'm so happy. Also, if what you are looking for is a fun learning tool to teach kids about the bible, you should try the videos from the creators of Veggietales called "What's in the bible?" They are perfect and complete way to make your children love the bible and have great knowledge of history, geography and social studies during bible times. |

Will Your Story Be One of Legend—or of Tragedy?
In this D&D campaign setting, you’ll explore the Magic: The Gathering plane of Theros, a world inspired by the gripping epics, unforgettable monsters, and rich mythology of Ancient Greece.
Set off on an epic voyage across the Siren Sea, where mystic isles hide untold wonders and mythic monsters lurk in the deep. Visit the necropolies of the Returned—where melancholy golden masks mark those who dared escape the Underworld. Or journey into an enchanted valley to join satyrs in their indulgent revelry.
From the starry realm of Nyx, the gods rule over all. They seek champions—heroes to enact their schemes and spread their ideals. But are their gifts ever truly free?
Power & Piety
All heroes are born with supernatural gifts. Were they bestowed by a god? The gift of a sphinx? The choice is yours. Each option grants your hero unique talents—whether blessing or curse.
Legendary Character Options
Introducing two playable races: get up to mischief as a fun-loving Satyr or play a proud, lion-like Leonin.
Two subclasses also join the fray: Bards of the College of Eloquence are masters of rhetoric, and Paladins who swear the Oath of Glory dedicate their lives to heroic deeds.
Plus, the admired Athlete also enters the ring of possible character backgrounds.
Mythic Encounters
Kick off your campaign with a ready-to-play starting adventure. Players will unravel a mystery, uncovering secrets buried in the depths of the Underworld.
Beware the gorgon queen, Hythonia, and krakens eager to feed. Create climactic battles with detailed maps and stat blocks for mythic monsters. Discover treasures, from flying chariots to the spear of Heliod himself.
Playing Dungeons & Dragons
Become An Adventurer
Adventurers come in all shapes and sizes. Find one that’s fun for you.
A elvish cleric, driven from society for trespassing on tradition. A dwarven paladin, atoning for an ignominous past. The Player’s Handbook provides the skeleton for your characters. Flesh them out however you choose.
Join the Party
D&D brings people together and forges new friendships. Silly moments spawn inside jokes, moving battles leave treasured memories—whether in the heat of battle, embroiled in social intrigue, or solving clever puzzles, your party has your back.
Choose Your Own Path
The woods are growing dark. Behind a mass of ivy, you see the stones of a crumbling castle. What do you do?
In D&D, your options are limitless. Because the Dungeon Master, as narrator of your tale, can improvise in reaction to any choice you make, what happens next is entirely flexible. Do you dare go on?
Collect chips through a series of games. The player with the most chips wins!
Determine how many rounds you want to play. Divide chips up evenly among all players.
Each player places one chip on one section of the Tripoley Mat: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten, King-Queen, 8-9-10, Kitty and Pot.
Choose one player to start as the dealer.
Remove the Jokers and deal out the entire deck to all players, PLUS one extra hand. Some players may have more cards in their hand than others.
Tripoley is a combination of games played in the following order: Hearts, Poker and Michigan Rummy.
Hearts
Hearts provides an opportunity for players to collect chips for specific cards they may be holding in their hand.
In no certain order, holders of the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten of Hearts place their cards in front of them and collect chips from the matching Tripoley sections on the mat.
If a player has both the King and Queen of Hearts, they can take chips from the King-Queen Section.
Chips from the 8-9-10 section are won by any 8-9-10 sequence and any single suit. If more than one player holds an 8-9-10 sequence, the chips are divided equally.
Poker
Keeping the same cards as the Hearts round (including the ones shown to collect chips in the previous game), players pick 5 in their hand that make the best poker hand.
Poker hands are (best to worst): Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pairs and One Pair.
The dealer starts the betting, or depending on his hand, the dealer can pass the bet.
Players must match or raise the bet, or fold. All bets are placed in the Pot.
After betting is complete, each player must reveal their hand. The player with the best hand wins all the chips in the pot.
Michigan Rummy
Collect all of your cards from the previous rounds. The dealer lays down the lowest card in their hand and calls it out. (Two is the lowest card and Ace is the highest)
The player who holds the next consecutive card in the same suit, lays it down, next to the previous card. If a card is missing (because it's in the dead hand) the player who played the last card starts the next sequence by playing their lowest card of a different suit. If that player can't change suit, the person to their left starts the new sequence.
Play continues like this until one player is out of cards. The first player out wins all the chips in the kitty, PLUS the players must give the winner one chip for each card they have left.
Winning the game
After completing the first round, the person to the dealers left becomes the new dealer and play resumes as in the previous round. Play ends after the pre-determined amount of rounds.
If there are any chips left on the table, re-deal the cards one last time. Players determine and present their best poker hand. Best hand wins all the remaining chips. The player with the most chips overall, wins the game.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can two people play the card game |
Answer: | Hi, This is Grandpa Beck. Thanks for the question. There is no actual limitation that prevents play with any number of players. The box says 4-6 players, because that is the "sweet spot" that most people find ideal. The rule sheet does say, that if the game is played with 2-3 players, each player holds five cards in their hand instead of the four that is normally dealt. When played with fewer players, the game is more about making pairs. When played with more players, the game is more about capturing the most valuable stacks of assets. With larger groups valuable top sets of assets are often stolen and re-stolen many times. Each time a set is captured value is added as the cards used to challenge and defend go with the winning set. This added value adds a lot of drama and emotion to the game. There are many twists and turns as players use strategy to try and be the last one to capture the most valuable assets. Some players even play with larger groups. Others combine decks to give more options with large groups. We often divide a large group into two and them play off in a tournament. However you play, I hope you have a great time! This is a game that all ages can play and enjoy together and we love hearing about families and friends having great times with our games. If you get a moment we would love to hear from you with a review! thanks! |
Question: | How many cards are in the box? To make the game for more people- Can I order just additional decks, and for what price |
Answer: | Hello and thank you for writing. There are 110 cards in the box, two decks of 52. There is no specific limitation to the number who can play the game. The dynamics of it do change in very interesting ways with different numbers of players. With a small number of players play is more focused on making pairs. With larger groups there is much more back and forth, and more interesting interaction. The game plays well with up to 7 players as is, with 5-6 being ideal. With larger groups some people add in an extra deck or two. We usually just break into groups of 5-6 players instead of playing with 10 people at once, but that is just our preference. It can work both ways. Just give it a try and see what you think. I am confident you will have many a wonderful game night with this game. The game is $12.99 and comes in a very nice sturdy box. We don't really have the cards sold separately. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to write, or call. Please see the reviews to see what others are saying about our line of four family favorite card games. Brent Beck, aka, Grandpa Beck [email protected] 206-498-1959 grandpabecksgames.com |
Question: | How long does a game usually last |
Answer: | Hi, it depends somewhat on the group size, and the game is best with 4-6 players. The game is played in a series of 'hands.' These can be played and enjoyed independently or in sequence toward the final goal of one player gaining a total score of one million dollars. Each hand would average 10-15 minutes and 45 minutes or so to complete the complete goal. The game moves along quickly and many enjoy a quick 'game' whenever they have a few minutes! I look forward to hearing how you enjoy it! Brent Beck, aka, Grandpa Beck |
Question: | how many can play |
Answer: | It is optimal with 5-6 players, but 4-7 still works well also. With more than 8 people you would want to get a second game and either add the two games together or play in two groups. I am sure you will enjoy it. Please call with any other questions. 206.498.1959 Grandpa Beck Merry Christmas! |

Fish
36 adorable sea creature cards looking to be matched up. Puffer fish, seahorses, clown fish, octopi and more waiting to be grouped into sets of four. 2-4 players start with 5 cards each and take turns asking for the floating friends they need, or grabbing a random card from the draw pile. When all the fish are in schools of four, the game is over and player with the most sets wins.
Old Maid
33 cards with cute portraits of everyone in the family are dealt to every player. Each card has a match, except for the poor Old Maid. 2-4 players make as many matches as they can, then take turns picking a card from the player to their left to keep matching up the family. When there’s only one card left, it will be the Old Maid, which means it’s time to clean up! Whoever has the most pairs of family members is the winner.
War
52 battle cards pitting history’s greatest enemies against each other, Dogs vs. Cats! 2-4 players are both a dog and cat person as all cards are mixed together and cards are randomly played head to head. The higher card takes the pair, but if the cards match, you declare war! You each put three cards face down and play the fourth card, and the winner takes all! The battle continues until one player has all of the cards and claims victory.
Crazy 8’s
40 cards featuring cartoony wildlife artwork! Starting with five cards each, 2-4 players must match either an animal or one of four colors to the card on the discard pile. There’s elephants, apes, rhinos, penguins and more just waiting to get in on the action. If the player can’t make a match, they keep picking cards from the draw pile until they can. The card with 8 crazy hyenas on it is wild and can be played at any time. Be the first player to get rid of all of your cards and you are king of the jungle.
