They also are taking into consideration small items that the child might suck up into the vacuum. With all that being said, I would be fine with a child under 3 playing with this item. Answer:	I don't know the exact size but the box is enormous and very, very heavy. I do want to say that this is the best toy I ever bought. I'm the Grammy. I have two little granddaughters and they play and play and play with this thing endlessly. It is so well built -- you will never find a better constructed play kitchen or a toy with so much play value. I bought this a year ago and remain just thrilled with it.
