Answer:	It does fold flat. It’s been awhile since I purchased this item so I can’t remember exactly but it’s fully assembled or takes very little to do.

Answer:	It depends on the child. I gifted this to my 4 year old granddaughter on her birthday and she loves it. Her 9 year old sister took it for a spin and now she wants one for Christmas. So if the 8 year old has a Baby Alive then she will love it too, I'm sure.
