Answer:

It requires significant assembly, not terribly hard but took me 4 hours and I'm pretty handy. Bigger problem is its packaging and the delivery service that was used. The cardboard box does not provide adequate protection for the weight of the materials in it. The delivery service used dropped the large, very heavy box off two days before schedule when I was out of town, in the rain, eventhough when they called to advise me they were delivering it early and nothing I could do about it, regardless of how much I begged them not to. I had to repair/re-make several pieces due to the shipping damage. Am happy though with the product , but be warned.
