Although JanSport offers a lifetime manufacture's warranty the extra strain on this particular lightweight backpack may cause discomfort to the wearer. You may want to look at the JanSport City View or JanSport Big Student styles. These backpacks will easily handle a 14 - 15 inch laptop.

Answer:	Well, I guess it depends on what he will use it for. If its for school (books, folders, binders, etc) then yes, I think it would be too small. If its just for hauling toys/electronics to Grandma's or wherever, then I think he could get away with it.
