Answer:	The yarn is unnecessary and just an accessory. This is a felting machine, the 4 needles go in and out of two layers of felt and tangle the fibers so they are bonded together. No thread or yarn necessary, but it only works with felt fabric

Answer:	Yes, That right. Just like Circuitbuilder said, ClicBot needs to be disconnected from the charger to operate. Charge the brain firstly, and then splice the robot whatever you want.

You don't even have to buy this Plasticine kit to use the app --- but I do recommend this kit. It's lots of fun and easy to use (I use it own my own to play around (59 yo grandma with an interest in animation) and easy to help my 4 and 2 yo grandchildren make 'movies'.
