14 best toys for 10 month olds
Toys for 10-month-olds play a crucial role in their development, stimulating their senses, promoting motor skills, and encouraging exploration. Here are some types of toys that are suitable for 10-month-old babies:
Soft Plush Toys: Soft, cuddly plush toys provide comfort and companionship for infants. Stuffed animals or soft dolls can be great for hugging and may become a source of emotional attachment.
Sensory Toys: Toys with various textures, colors, and materials engage a 10-month-old's senses. This could include toys with crinkly fabric, tags, or different tactile elements.
Musical Toys: Musical toys can be captivating for babies. Instruments like xylophones, baby pianos, or toys that play soothing lullabies or melodies can be entertaining and promote an early appreciation for music.
Stacking and Sorting Toys: Toys that involve stacking blocks or sorting shapes are excellent for developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. They can also teach basic concepts like shapes and colors.
Activity Centers: Activity centers with interactive features such as buttons, switches, and spinning elements can keep babies engaged and help them learn cause-and-effect relationships.
Rattles: Rattles are classic baby toys that help with grasping, shaking, and making noise. They stimulate both auditory and motor skills.
Teething Toys: At 10 months, babies might be teething, so teething toys can be a relief for sore gums. These toys are designed to be safe for chewing and can soothe discomfort.
Push and Pull Toys: Toys that babies can push or pull while learning to walk can be beneficial for both motor development and balance.
Books: Board books with simple, colorful pictures and textures are excellent for introducing babies to the world of reading. Reading to a 10-month-old can promote language development and cognitive skills.
Mirror Toys: Babies are often fascinated by their own reflection.Toys with mirrors can entertain and help babies develop self-awareness.
Bath Toys: Bath time can be made more enjoyable with colorful, floating bath toys that can be squeezed and splashed around.
Cause and Effect Toys: Toys that demonstrate cause and effect, such as pop-up toys, are great for teaching babies about the relationships between actions and outcomes.
Puzzles: Simple, large-piece puzzles with knobs or handles can help babies develop problem-solving skills and hand dexterity.
Pull-Along Animals: Toys in the form of animals that babies can pull along with a string are fun and encourage movement.
Shape Sorters: Shape sorter toys help babies learn about shapes and matching while developing fine motor skills.
When selecting toys for a 10-month-old, always consider safety. Look for toys made from non-toxic materials, avoid small parts that could be a choking hazard, and ensure that they meet safety standards. Additionally, consider the individual preferences and developmental stage of the child, as different babies may have varying interests and skills.

User questions & answers
Question: | what are the sizes |
Answer: | Not sure of the actual size but my 10 month old grandson loves it and will probably play with for a couple of years at least. |
Question: | What age(s)? My grandson is turning 2, but reviews describe children much younger |
Answer: | Hi, I gave this to my grandson for his 1st birthday and he ignored all his other presents to play with it. His older brother, age 4 also seemed intrigued by the truck. I would guess that 2 years would be near the top of the age range for this toy, but if your grandson likes vehicles in general, I'd say go for it. It has some cute features and the price is great, especially if you have Amazon Prime and benefit from the free shipping. Hope this helps! |
Question: | Can extra "rocks" be purchased separately |
Answer: | 1-2 year olds will lose these 'rocks' faster than you can say 'random launch sites'. Wiffle (practice) golf balls (1.6 in) are actually NOT the right size. They are too small to trip the counting sensor as the ball enters the hole. If you want extra balls, search for 1.75 in balls. They can be found on Amazon. |
Question: | Is the plastic BPA free |
Answer: | Dear Pit C.,VTech Drop and Go Dump Truck is Bisphenol A or Bisphenol S free, all VTech toys are conformed to US Toy Safety Standard. Toy Safety is our top priority. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions. |

User questions & answers
Question: | The paint comes off, is it lead free and bpa. what kind of paint is it |
Answer: | When I purchased I thought I read that it was both lead and bpa free but now I can not find this information - in any case we didn't want to take any chances of paint being swallowed. |
Question: | What does this do? Does it make sounds or talk also |
Answer: | Mostly, this toy remote just makes sounds. If you're even the least bit tech savvy [or if your kid pushes enough buttons], it can be made to say numbers... presently, my younger son has managed to get it to say zero through nine in French. The other options there are English and Spanish. Kein Deutsch. :-( It is okay as a toy to keep the kiddos distracted for a bit, and there's a marginal educational upside to it, but you may be just as well served to give a real remote sans batteries. |
Question: | Is it BPA free |
Answer: | Yes. it BPA free. This TV Remote Control is pass the test of CPSIA and ASTM. You can rest assured to give kids. |
Question: | Does it say fast forward, rewind, pause, stop, vol up vpl down |
Answer: | Hello Friend: This remote control can say number with 3 langue, such as English, French and Spanish. It also can make sound, it a great early educational toy. Thanks! |

What’s the KEY to keeping kids happy?
There’s no one answer to this question, but most parents know that one of the best ways to keep a baby or child from fussing is the art of distraction. And as long as there have been keys, there have been adults trying to use those keys to entertain or sooth a cranky toddler. B. FunKeys gives you the best of both worlds by offering a fun and vibrant toy version of the keys your child would have played with anyway while letting you hold on to your boring adult keys and use them for what they’re actually meant to do.
B. just like mom and dad!
Kids will often mimic what they see their parents doing and love to act like adults themselves. Any parent who has ever used a smart phone or similar device in front of their kids knows that their lil’ buddy will instantly ignore all their other toys in favor of getting their hands on your gadget. And just like there are toy smart phones out there for this very reason, so too exists these toy keys. Let your toddler press away at the buttons as you walk back to your car and make them feel like they’re doing the unlocking!
So much fun in one small package
Just because this set of toy car keys is a small mean there’s not a lot of fun to be had from it. At a basic level, they keys are just fun to jangle around. But the remote also features 4 buttons that make different realistic car sounds AND a cute little flash light that’s as functional as it is fun. If you child can be entertained by regular keys for a good while, they’re never going to want to put down these toy keys!

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the balls made of - plastic? wood |
Answer: | You can purchase a replacement set (Current price $10 (Prime) here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M04YTFG I actually found that the balls which fit my twin nephews' other ball drop toys fit this toy. I purchased these for them and they LOVE that they shake and add an extra dimension to the noise of this toy. The only drawback is that these don't have "green" and they are plastic. Currently they are $8 (Prime) for a set of extras. They do hold up very well though considering the twins fight over them constantly and bang them around with the hammer and any other toy they can find. I don't advise smashing them hard though and always supervise play. https://www.amazon.com/Ball-Activity-Balls-Replacements-Action/dp/B01JDZYXGY/ |
Question: | how can I purchase extra balls |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these dishwasher safe |
Answer: | Yes, Rita, the First Years Stacking Up Cups are dishwasher safe. Enjoy! |
Question: | Would these stacking cups be good for a 3 yr old toddler |
Answer: | I think they would be great for a 3 year old. I'm not sure why others say they wouldn't be. I got them for my 20 month old daughter. Granted all children/babies have different development and stages of learning and enjoyment, but these little cups have a lot to offer babies and children of all ages. And as an adult I am impressed with them as well. It's a steal of a deal at less than $4 including shipping. I was surprised and impressed to see that each cup had a number on the bottom as well as different shaped holes depending on the number. Many children and even adults I imagine lol are not going to get that concept, but it by no means necessitates that they couldn't and shouldn't enjoy playing with the cups. My baby loves to line them up and put things and out of them, and she wanted to bring the biggest blue one into the pool with us so it worked awesomely as an 8-holed sprinkler. Anyways, they are cute, fun, and have more to offer as the child progresses and learns and understands new concepts and things. I'm glad I got them for my baby when she was not even 2 and I hope that you got them for the 3 year old toddler despite weird people telling you not to, or if you haven't since you asked that question last November hopefully now you will get them for the nearly 4 year old. No reason not to! |
Question: | Are these cups bpa and phthalate free? the previous answers from the manufacturer was not answering the questions. isn't it a 'yes' or 'no |
Answer: | Hello and Thank you for your question on The First Years Stacking Up Cups. Yes, these are BPA and Phthalate free. |
Question: | Are these BPA free |
Answer: | BPA is Bisphenol-A A very common and wdely studied ingredient in plastic. I work in the plastics industry and can tell you it is as simple as this. Either you use BPA or you don't, there really is not any room for ambiguity. One of my company's products is BPA Free, the recipe instead used BPF which is what water bottles use these days. BPF is popular additive in plastic because no one has proven that it's dangerous yet. |
