Unfortunately the plastic poles (to hold up tent) poke through the bottom after a very short period of time. She is older and meticulous about her Breyer stuff. (She creates videos). We fixed it by patching it but all of the poles eventually poke through. It is unfortunate for we find all of the Breyer items to be extremely durable and well made. Hope this helps. It is nicer and bigger than it appears in pics. |

| Answer: | I have some Schleich horses but they are as big my Breyer (classic size) foals. In my review from May 24, 2016, I have a picture with the horses and foals in it. In the photo, you can see the size of stable compared to the foals. You can probably fit more Schleich horses than Breyer Classic Size horses in the stable. |

| Answer: | At 8 years old, she's definitely old enough to handle the Breyer's. I'd recommend those for her. There are a lot more selection of Breyer horses and accessories. The Schleich are sturdier, they're made of a more dense material, but the Breyer's hold up well to normal play. As long as they're not being thrown into a toy box, (we got a special Rubbermaid container with a top for our daughter's horses) or tossed across a room and are just being played with in a fairly normal manner, the Breyers should be fine. My daughter is now 11 and has been playing with the Breyer's since she was about 6. We've had a few broken legs along the way (nothing super glue couldn't fix) but usually because it was on a very thin part of the horse's legs, and not really because of something she did. She loves the Breyers and just gets more and more into them as she gets older. She now wants to start collecting the rare (aka expensive!) ones. Her 8 year old brother has even started asking for a few so they can play with them together. We also have some of both types, because there are some of the Schleich that are just beautiful, especially the unicorns and pegasus. But most of them are the Breyer's and I would recommend them above the Schleich simply because of the much, much larger selection! Either way, I'm sure she'll enjoy playing with her horseys for many, many hours! |
