Hi! I have never had an incident where this product has stained clothes, and we use it a lot and get pretty messy. I guess I would say if you've already washed and dried the pieces of clothing, use those clothes for painting next time! But never dry anything until it's out. I've used hairspray and nail polish remover on ink stains and that works. Answer:	You need to fold the mat at its crease on the back section. With my rear facing seat this gave plenty of protection for my seat. When rear facing not as much of the car seat is rubbing against your car. The mat stayed in place very well, protecting underneath and at the foot area of your rear facing seat.
Question:	What colors come with this
Answer:	It can, but you may have a challenge getting the back of the pad to stay up on the back seat because it's the tall back of the regular car seat that holds the pad in place. Now, because I have a head rest on my back seat I was able to rig the seat cover in a way where I hooked it to the head rest and that held it in place. I graduated from car seats about 12 years ago and I just needed something to protect my leather seats from my older "children" age 17 and 20 (:) when they are sitting in the back eating and drinking God knows what! LOL! It protects my seats from all their crumbs. But, now that I think about it, if you use a booster seat, it's possible that when your child leans against the seat, their back could very well hold it in place. It's not a flimsy mat (good quality) and very well still could stay in place without it flipping forward (also depends on the texture of your seats). I say all that, to say this, probably the best thing to do is order it and try it and if it doesn't work for you, you can always send it back. I'm very pleased with mine! I hope this helps and doesn't sound too confusing.
