Answer:	You can configure the thermostat for "heat only" in the ISU menu by setting the number of cooling stages to 0, but if you're using a radiant floor heat system, I don't think this thermostat is the best choice, as it assumes forced air heat which uses entirely different heating response algorithms than radiant floor heat. Forced air is much hotter than water and is introduced into a room at a few select locations rather than throughout the room. Air also cools off much faster than water. You can get reasonable temperature consistency with a forced air system by turning on the heat when the temperature drops a bit below the set point, then turning off the heat when the temperature reaches the set point. In a radiant floor system, this would always lead to overshooting the set point, as the water in the floor remains hot even after you turn off the actuators and will continue to radiate into the room. It would also let the room get too cool, as well, as it takes longer for the hot water to heat the room as the water isn't as hot and it takes time to circulate.There are quite a few thermostats out there which offer radiant floor, slab and baseboard heating algorithms that will do a better job, taking into account the different thermal mass and different heating/cooling rates of air and water. The best ones are adaptive and will actually measure how long it takes the radiant floor to heat the room up, how much it overshoots the set temperature by and how long it takes the room to cool off due to thermal mass. They then adjust when the actuators turn on and off based on this "real-world" information, to insure the room temperature stays where you want it.

Answer:	I have a 5 year old Lux Thermostat. When we bought a new Rheem this past summer, the technician pulled the batteries out of it saying they were not needed. End result, is every time we have a power outage, the thermostat looses it's programming. it losses it when we change back and forth from heat to cool also. I'd be wary of any advice about removing batteries unless you're sure that it does not affect the thermostat memory. i say this as the A/C is on and it's program is set on 72 degrees. i had it set on 75 and have not attempted to reprogram it since that would be just a temporary fix it resets down to 72 often not sure why.

Answer:	I just went to Best Buy to play with the RTH9585WF and see what is the difference in the settings. Color options do seem to be slightly different. Both have 7 day programing (four settings per day) plus vacation etc. The literature says the 9585 automatically switches between cool/heat but in 9585 system (MODE) there is only "heat", "cool" and "off". So my guess is the automatic is not a setting you pick. 9560 offers the forth option of automatic and will show heat and cool adjustments on the home page setting on the panel. Other than that I do not see any difference. My guess is the 9585 has a newer chip set but honestly I have no idea. I called Honeywell and the tech could not even tell me the difference other than it's the second generation model. Both work with Alexa and other smart devices and smart hubs. I'm still thinking of returning the 9580 for the 9585 but if I have to switch between heat and cold that is a deal breaker and I kind of like seeing the date when I walk buy. My guess is in a few years Honeywell will over a unit to compete with the Ecobee with something like Alexa built into it. Frankly, I'd purchase the Ecobeen 4 but my wife of 35 years thought the Ecobeen being black and kind of large and the white mounting plate was ugly and after 35 years of marriage I felt like this decision was not worth the fight.

Question:	will this product work for a gas furnace and a separate AC unit
Answer:	In most cases, Nest thermostats can get enough power from your system’s heating and cooling wires. But in a small number of situations you may need to connect a common or C wire to deliver enough consistent power to your thermostat when your heating and cooling wires are not able to deliver the needed power for your Nest thermostat. Battery drain issues normally happen when the power from your heating and cooling system goes out. The 2 AAA alkaline batteries are used as a backup, or to supplement if your system can’t deliver enough power.

Answer:	No
Question:	I need a thermostat that can be programmed different everyday. Does 5-2 mean Saturday and Sunday have to be programmed together
Answer:	I found an interactive video on my utility’s website (Commonwealth Edison) that ran through the wiring questions. It will tell you if your system is compatible with Nest thermostats.

Question:	Does this have an on-off switch
Answer:	This is just a simple thermostat that turns on when the temperature reaches the point at which you set it, and stays on until the temperature drops below that set point.
Question:	Will this unit operate on a 12 volt RV electrical system without the aaa batteries installed? Will the display be readable
Answer:	This means do not connect a variable speed control to the motor. The motor must run at full speed and only controlled by the thermostat.

Answer:	Come on. At temperature range 60° to120°, you set the "fan on" to cool your whatever. HOWEVER! YOU DO NOT WANT your house fan on if there is a FIRE as it will create a chimney effect and make things exponentially worse so at 183° just before where stuff like wood starts to oxidize and combust (burn), it shuts off so you don't blame (and sue) them because YOU left a romantic candle burning and toasted your bedroom.
Question:	Are you able to set the min and max temps, like a min of 50 degrees and max of 68 degrees
Answer:	As the temperature increases in the attic the contact closes and the fan starts. So far mine works fine.

Question:	Does the display light up as shown in the description? That would make it easier to read
Answer:	No, the battery it comes with is the only battery that will only fit in the fan. The fan works great, but I was disappointed that I wouldn't be able change out the battery once it died. Luckily i opened it up before our trip and noticed. Before our trip I bought a rechargeable battery pack to recharge the fan. :D

Answer:	This is a non programmable T stat. If you want to use this to replace and don't care about the programmable side , then yes it will work

Answer:	Your C wire is just a common for power. If you dont plan on using batteries, then C will be required to power the thermostat.

Answer:	As long as both have the same wiring connections and are compatible with your system, program or non-program doesn't matter. Programmable is just a feature that provides more convenience without having to change the settings manually. If it makes you feel better, ask a local heating expert. Hope this helps.
Question:	How do you separate the front cover from the back plate and to change batteries
Answer:	My husband says to gently pull the cover plate from the back piece. There are 4 clips that fit into slots on the back piece. These are all inside of the cover so you won’t see anything. When replacing the front cover, just line up the clips to the slots. Very easy to do.

Answer:	As most have already said, it can run solely on batteries. If there is a C wire available, you can use that instead of the batteries for daily operation. But if you have a C wire then you would be looking at fancier smart thermostats instead of this older tech model.
Question:	Can thermostat be set for both degrees F & C
Answer:	Depends on your definition of 'programmable'. It can be set one of two ways: "On" - fan is always on, "Auto" - fan only runs when heat/cool is on. Those are the only fan settings.
Question:	My old thermostat works with only 2 wires, can i use this thermostat
Answer:	It does not, but here is a work-around: Honeywell *does* have a control that sets the cycles per hour, this is called "Heating Cycle Rate" and is function #0240 on my Honeywell RTH7600D. The default for this is "5" cycles per hour, I set mine to "1". This has minimized annoying and inefficient cycling on my gas furnace. To make sure I knew exactly what was going on, I also turned off "Smart Response Technology", function #0530. I am not certain that the "Heating Cycle Rate" numbers correspond *exactly* to cycles per hour, but I believe that they are at least proportionate. Good luck!
