Answer:	It has a light inside and from planting to first growth was about 3 days. If you saw the picture I uploaded that was about 5 days growth with very little direct sunlight.

You can also let them color the background with marker/paint and let them stamp on a shape cut from a sponge/foam dipped in their favorite color.
