User questions & answers
Question: | Does it work with 230V 50Hz |
Answer: | Yes this unit is great. Comes with solder, power cord, and some tools to help. You get started. |
Question: | does this have an auto shutoff |
Answer: | I don't know as I don't have different tips to try. |
Question: | how many watts is this system |
Answer: | I don't know if it has a sleep/cool down mode(my guess is it does not), but I turn OFF the unit when I'm done using it. It did not come with a bent tip. The handle is cool during usage. Be careful when handling light soldering equipment as it is easy to drop the unit or parts of it , so I'm very careful that I am ready to work before I even turn on the unit and I make sure that I turn it off the moment I stop using it. I have electric or duct tape pieces on my workbench to hold it down while it is cooling after turning off as it is very light and I don't want it sliding down or falling off the table. |
Question: | Are the tips original |
Answer: | yes |

Question: | Can this unit use T-12 tips? What would be the difference |
Answer: | The tip size for this soldering iron station is: Inside diameter : 4.3-4.7mm Outer diameter : 6.2-6.4MM Length : 24.5mm + 15mm/18mm/19mm please confirm the sizes with sellers before you buying the soldering iron station tips. |
Question: | Does this come with the FH200-01 stand for sleep functionality |
Answer: | Soldering iron station temperature range is 320℉-896℉.If the temperature is suitable for your applications,I think it may work for you. |
Question: | Why it shows 'S-E' error code in my first use? I tried all the tips and measured the tips |
Answer: | Hard to say. Of the two that I have, they look and work the same. When dealing with other peoples numbering conventions it's not a straight forward thing. A Buick and a Chevrolet might be the same car under the skin with different marketing. Same deal here. These things have all kinds of front panel numbers but the goods tend to be alike. Mike |
Question: | Does it work with 230V 50Hz |
Answer: | You don't, at least not unless they changed the model since I bought mine... Also, my instruction manual didn't mention changing from C to F at all. I just googled the conversation and printed out an Excel sheet with common temps I use and the C conversation... Also, the temp readout lies, it can be up to 20C off on mine as it years/cools, but for the price it's a good unit.... You have to Shell out 3-500 for anything better. |

User questions & answers
Question: | does it come with B2756 Tip Tray |
Answer: | Both pads are not safe for incontinence. They are water resistant, but not water proof. I would recommend using incontinence pads for the protection of your pads getting damaged. 10x30 is for weight of 120+ lbs and 20x30 is for under 120lbs. 20x30 is a more sensitive pad. |
Question: | Does it come with the wire for sleep mode function |
Answer: | You can purchase additional call buttons, but they are NOT water proof. We didn’t need anymore than the one call button. |
Question: | Is there going to be a noticeable difference between the FX888D and this FX951? I will be using it for mostly TH with an odd SM thrown in on occasion |
Answer: | No, it is only activated by motion. there is timer for 3 optional continued time: 30 seconds , 130 seconds and 380 seconds. Actually, if you don't use the sensor, connect (need soldering)the power adapter directly with the LED strip, the light will be always on. |
Question: | Does the display show actual tip temperature or just the preset |
Answer: | Didn't measure it, but the lighted portion runs the entire length of my king size bed less approximately a foot on each end. I like it a lot... Ends the need to fumble for the bedside lamp for a middle of the night bathroom trip. The way mine is positioned, I can turn it on by waving my arm or foot off the side of the bed for a little light if needed when I don't want to leave my nice warm covers! Bought one for my 84 year old MIL and she absolutely loves it. |

User questions & answers
Question: | tip included |
Answer: | I can answer this question as it relates specifically to the Hakko FX888D vs the FX888 soldering stations. The digital version offers a few advantages in my opinion, they are 1)Presets - This is handy if you work on projects that require different temperatures, ie. different types of solder, large vs small gauge wire - you can save 5 different temperatures and quickly access them; 2)Password Lock - If you work at a station that more than one user will be using or if for any reason someone else might have access to your soldering station, this will prevent them from making temperature setting adjustments and you can be sure your iron will be the way you left it; 3)Digital readout - I like the big digital display, it's very easy to read at a glance to double check that you have the correct temperature. While the iron is heating up, the actual temperature is displayed, however, once it is up to the selected temperature, it doesn't show you the actual temperature drop when you are working. What it does do is tell you when the tip is being heated. Every time the Hakko needs to bring the temperature up to the selected number, a dot turns on so you can tell it's heating. It's practically unnecessary to show the actual temperature sag because it heats up so quickly, usually within a second or two. Both the analog and digital versions of this iron/station have a ceramic heating element, which in my opinion is a must for quality and timely solering. Heat recovery is quicker with a ceramic heating element. I hope this helps in your decision making process. |
Question: | whats the degrees??? How hit does it get |
Answer: | No it does not, it is only rated for the US electrical power system (110~120 VAC / 60 Hz) |
Question: | Does it includes everything in the picture? Station + Tip |
Answer: | No it does not. If you are looking for one that does, get the Weller WES51 |
Question: | What is the country of origin in which it is manufactured |
Answer: | Hello, thank you for your question. The FX-888D Digital Soldering System by Hakko has a power consumption of 70 watts. Please visit our website at www.hakkousa.com for more information. We hope this helps. -American Hakko Products, Inc |
