User questions & answers

Question: Why is the picture showing a cell phone cover
Answer: No, not without the B3730 tip enclosure which allows the FX-601 to use T18 series tips instead of the T19 series.
Question: Does this stand come with the gold brass sponge holder or do i have to purchase that item separately
Answer: I have a Hakko 936 station at work, but I just noticed it has a Hakko 907 wand on it. No idea why. This T18-BR02 tip is too narrow on the inside for the Hakko 907 wand. So look at your wand number, not just at the station number. Now strangely, Hakko says this tip fits the 936 station, with the 907 handpiece. This T18-BR02 tip doesn't fit it. It may be a counterfeit. Hakko link for tip and compatibility: https://www.hakkousa.com/products/soldering-iron-tips/t18-series/t18-br02.html
Question: Is this the correct holder for a Hakko FX
Answer: Yes. The item I received came inside a 5”x2” plastic packet with “Hakko” logo and a line drawing of a soldering iron printed on one side. On the other side of the packet, you’ll have information about the tip: T19-D65 • Shape - 6.5D • Made in Japan • This tip/nozzle is plated with lead-free solder • Hakko logo • barcode - 4962615038747 and 4 symbols denoting recycling, green and e-qualifications.
Question: Will this hold a TS100 iron
Answer: I suppose you could but I would probably use a smaller tip like a pencil tip. I am not sure if you mean you are removing 5mm or have 5mm in between the items to be removed.

Answer: Not sure...cause i have a hakko 936..but it should.
Question: What temp for stained glass, copper foil
Answer: A good chisel tip is perfect for through hole work. However, they can sometimes be too large for smaller component surface mount (SMT) work. I use the curved tips mainly for SMT work. However, they can work for through-hole as well with a little practice. Hope this helps. - Trenton

Question: Will this work for the Hakko Mach 1 model 918 soldering iron
Answer: The proper temperature actually depends on the alloy solder you are using.Standard stained glass solders melt at about 361 degrees F. The iron needs to hot enough to hold sufficient heat to drag the solder along the foil. 600-650 would be the minimum temp. to use depending on the size of the surface being soldered.
