Answer:	I bend mine to get them to fit in my file drawer. They bend very easily.

Answer:	Probably not although I have not tested it to be sure. Generally it's a good idea to keep any petroleum based product away from heat. What is your projected usage of the item?

Answer:	It does, but in case of an intense fire, depending on how much paper is in each pocket, the fire might seep under the cover to reach paper content. I use mine as a recipe file and it is full of file folders and recipes! I do love the file, however.
Question:	Is this essentially a low level faraday cage also
Answer:	It is water resistant, not waterproof. This will not withstand diving. Obviously this is my thinking, I have not been in touch with the manufacturer.

Since this video aired, we have offered to send each owner a redesigned replacement part to defend against this breach. Question:	Is there a moisture/mold problem with these honeywell fire/water chests? i'm seeing a lot of complaints in the reviews
Answer:	We have been using one in Portland Oregon for about six months and have never had any problem with mold or mustiness in any safe we've used over the past 30 years. Today, I opened this safe for the first time in a few months, greeted by the smell of mildew. We do use a small dessicant packet inside, and the average humidity in our home hovers around 45%. We will need to arrange either a better dessicant or a different safe!
Question:	All 3 of the product specs have different sizes. Can someone tell me the exact outside dimensions by height, width, and depth including the lock
Answer:	From left to right when facing the lock and latches the width is exactly 12 3/8". From front to back, the depth is 9 7/8" for the box but including the silver lock cylinder which protrudes out the front add an extra 1/4" so a full 10 1/8". This does not include any space for inserting the key or opening the top of the box which needs additional space as the top swings up. The height of the box when closed is 7 1/4". Answer:	LA City Fire Dept. Captain and others there. liked the box, showed it to LAFD before mounting it for them. As box is solid steel construction (I'd say 16 0r 18 Ga.) the fire rating would be very high. I do not recall seeing any UL or other agency approval markings.

Answer:	It has a hole for their padlock to fit through.

Answer:	Yes. There is a micro switch that can be wired either normally open or normally closed. It uses spade type terminal connectors. When the cover is opened, it activates the switch. The only problem I had is that a Knox padlock has a 7/16" diameter shackle but the hole in the box is only 3/8" so I had to drill it out to 1/2".

Answer:	Thanks for the question. I wouldn't recommend this product for anything large than 4" wide by 3" high. Those are the maximum suggested insert dimensions.
Question:	can this be bolted to the wall thru the back or to the floor
Answer:	I don't know, maybe. When you place a letter-size paper in these plastic envelopes there is a small amount of room left over, maybe an inch at most. Add that 1 inch to the 11 inches of the paper and then add maybe 1/2 inch for play you have 12 1/2 inches. Now you can take a letter size file folder and see if 12 1/2 inches will fit. I am pretty sure the other dimension (8 1/2 + play) will fit.

How to use the safe box?

1.The safe is shipped locked. To open it for the first time, use one of the two keys provided.

2.Install four AA batteries (not included). The battery compartment is behind the door.

3.Reset passcode: There's one button on the door's medial part, press it and then input the new passcode(3 to 8 digits). Each pressing results one buzzer beep and yellow light flashes. Then press "#" button and the green light will be on.

4.Rotate the knob clockwise and pull outwards within 5 seconds, the door is opened.

*Caution!!!

1. Don't leave your keys in the safe. If you forget your password or the battery is dead, you will never be able to open it.

2. Under normal condition, if both of the red and the green lights are on at the same time, it means the voltage is low and you should insert new batteries.

Will this protect watetcolor paintings

Answer:

No pre-drilled holes in the safe. My safe came with 2 - 4" lug screws, 2 washers, and 2 masonry anchors. To anchor safe to the floor, one has to tip the safe on its side and drill holes through the bottom at two indentations on opposite sides of the safe, using a 7/16" , masonry bit. Then sit the safe upright and place it where you want to secure it to the floor, mark the floor (through the drilled holes), move the safe aside, drill into the floor using 9/32" bit for wood floor or a 3/4" masonry bit for masonry floor (then install the masonry anchor in each hole); in either case, drill holes 2 1/2" deep into the floor. Move the safe back over the holes; for wood floors, insert the screw through the washer, through the holes in the safe, and into the holes in the wood floor - tighten with a wrench. Do the same for masonry floors and tighten with a wrench. Hope this helps.
