Battery Installation & Low Battery

The Zircon Leak Alert WiFi water detector includes one 3V (CR123A) lithium battery. Remove the plastic PULL tab strip from the battery compartment before use.

To access the battery compartment, grasp the base of the detector with one hand, placing your thumb and middle finger on the indented battery access grooves. Squeeze both sides of the bottom half of the case. Lift and detach the top cover.

During the initial configuration of your Leak Alert WiFi, you may receive a 'Low Battery Alert' notification to your configured email address(es) as a result of a temporary dip in the battery voltage during the configuration process. This is not uncommon. The battery will quickly recover its voltage once the configuration process is complete and the detector enters sleep mode.

In the event of an actual low battery, the Leak Alert WiFi will chirp every 30 seconds between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time, and one email notification will be sent per 24-hour period.

Email Notifications

Email notifications will be sent as long as the detector is within range of your Wi-Fi router. Upon successful configuration, email notifications will be sent to confirm configuration, when a leak is detected, and when the battery is low and/or has been replaced. Each email will contain the detector’s name and time stamp.

To receive an optional event log summary every 6 days,check the option box 'Send Log Every 6 Days' in the 'Device' screen during configuration. The Event Log reports the last 20 notifications sent, including anytime there was a lost connection to the router, upon reconnection to the Internet.

Question:	Can you make sensor wire longer, and details
Answer:	Hello, we do not have instructions or knowledge of how to lengthen the wire. The warranty will be voided if product is altered or tampered with. Thanks
Question:	how long will the batteries last (assuming it is rarely alarming
Answer:	Been around 6 months and it has gone off around 20 times and batteries are still a full charge. This is the loudest alarm I have for the price.
Question:	Is this magnetic or does it use adhesive to attach to appliances? The video says it's magnetic but the descripton says it uses adhesive
Answer:	The unit I have attaches via adhesive. Bottom Line: neither magnetic or adhesive makes any difference. You want the sensor to be as low on the ground as you can get it so it reads water at the first appearance. I used extreme tape over my sensor to force the unit to stay flat on the ground at the lowest point (my garage has a little dip in the cement floor). If you have magnetic and it causes the sensor to sit 1/8" off the ground, you will have a lot of water loss before the alarm goes off. An adhesive patch could also lift the sensor off the ground by 1/16" also.
Question:	Can the alarm be switched off once it goes off while you fix the problem
Answer:	Yes, the alarm has an off and on switch. You can remove it from the water, turn it off, and it will reset itself.

Answer:	There are 3 ways to connect the extension cable to YoLink Leak Sensor. 1. Soldering with a soldering iron: (1) Use a soldering iron to solder 2 common wires (regardless of positive or negative) to a set of probes on the Leak Sensor (a set of probes on the top of the leak sensor is recommended) (2) Fix the leak sensor in one place (If you use double-sided tape to paste the bottom of the leak sensor to the wall, the thickness of the double-sided tape must be higher than the height of the footpad on the bottom of the leak sensor (>1.5mm), otherwise, the leak sensor may not stick firmly ) (3) Place the 2 wires in the area to be detected. The 2 wires must be separated and fixed with a certain distance (10~15mm) But please kindly note: If you use a soldering iron to solder the wire, it may damage the two probes of the original device, which may cause the probes to rust in a humid environment. 2. Use glue or tape to fix (1) Use glue or tape to stick 2 ordinary wires (regardless of positive or negative) to a set of probes on the leak sensor (a set of probes on the top of the leak sensor is recommended) a. Stick the wire to the end of the probe and roll it into a circle or ring to expand the contact area & assist in fixing; b. It is recommended to use glue/tape with high viscosity, which must be firmly adhered to! (2) Fix the leak sensor in one place (If you use double-sided tape to paste the bottom of the leak sensor to the wall, the thickness of the double-sided tape must be higher than the height of the footpad on the bottom of the leak sensor (>1.5mm), otherwise, the leak sensor may not stick firmly) (3) Place the 2 wires in the area to be detected. The 2 wires must be separated and fixed with a certain distance (10~15mm) But please kindly note: If the glue/adhesive tape fails to stick the wire firmly, it may cause the wire to fall off and the leak sensor may not work properly. 3.
