Answer:	That really depends on the leak. If it's close enough to the surface, then yes. I mainly use this for automotive to listen to fuel injectors, valve noise, suspension noises etc. All those types of noises have a mechanical fault which makes the noise easy to find. Not sure how well it would work to find a water leak such as a slab leak which is under the foundation.

Answer:	Nathan, Thanks for the question. The Moisture Range on this Hand Held meter for CORN is 10 - 40%. However, the clear plastic funnel which is provided to assist with consistent filling of the test cell, will not work well on corn over say 25 - 30%. This is due to the lack of flowability in the higher moisture content. I would suggest that you still fill the funnel, but pour the sample back out the large end at just 1 - 2" above the test cell. EVERY TIME and at the same Rate. With this consistency, you would have much greater repeatability between different tests. Answer:	The meter has push point pins that must penitrate into the material you want to measure. If the engineered bamboo flooring is too hard to allow the pins to penitrate into it the meter will not work. Perhaps you can consult the manufacturer for a more conclusive answer.

Answer:	I think I saw in the literature somewhere that the lower end of the (reading) scale is 6%. I don’t think I have seen anything lower than that on mine. I got reads on ply, solid wood, old and new. I have confidence in the meter and I tried it in every stick all over this 60 year old house. I found variation in new lumber, but a surprising steadiness-of-readings through my house. My unfinished oak floor project hasn’t jumbled up and ran out the door yet, a year later. I got a lot of comfort from having this information. A relative has a cupped, pre-finished floor in his place.... Good tool

Answer:	Not at all, the thermal imager is so so. But the true benefit is the ability to read the moisture content of material and to have all your customized readings on the screen at all times, including relative humidity, ambient air, etc. I have the 176 which does probe testing and also has a pad on the back of the unit, this pad lets you pull a reading without destructive measures (awesome for general walk arounds)! Can't remember what the other models offered, but I am happy with the 176. Great for mold and home inspections. I do also have an additional flir thermal imager. I definitely recommend one with MSX technology. The difference is unreal! Good Luck.

Answer:	New sensors can last for over 24 hours and the sound strength will diminish over time. If you've had the water sensor for almost 2 years or if it has gone off in the past the sound will not be as loud and will not siren for as long. You can always test the sensor to see how loud they sound to kind of determine how much life is left in them. Test them by place a damp paper towel across the two bottom prongs or place them in a few drops of water for a second or so. The stronger the electrical conduction---the stronger the alarm will sound--just keep that in mind. We recommend replacing them every 2 years and checking them semi annually when you test your smoke detectors. Also, if you come home and find the alarm has been going off but you are not sure for how long---throw it away and get a new one. It's difficult to determine the battery life if you don't know how long or how many times the alarm has been triggered.

Answer:	Yes, the battery is not replaceable. However, he battery seems to last quite a while. We place one in our water heater closet and under all sinks (bathrooms and kitchen). We also use them in our RV under sinks and behind the toilet. I believe we've replaced only a couple due to a dead battery, and they were at least 18 months or more old.

Answer:	The recommendations were for a minimum exposure of 15 minutes. Plus if the mics are laying down you either need to leave them in even longer so the ozone deactivates the virus, or turn them over for another 15 minutes for direct exposure to the UV-C rays (unless you can stand them up and cover them). Think you're probably better off with a can of spray disinfectant or a container of disinfecting wipes if you really have only 4 minutes.

Answer:	This is a tool best tuned for houses. Definitely not wide enough range for a grill. I have an IR thermometer I bought for my car years ago that has a very wide temp range -- I'd recommend something not made for figuring out where your house is loosing heat if you want to use with grill and cars. I think my other one does up to like 900 or 1200F.

Answer:	The most important difference between this and a non-contact IR thermometer is that once you read a base temperature you can set the device to give a visual representation of any temperature differences. The way it does that is by changing the color of a bright spot of light it projects on the surface you are measuring. That was important to me because I am in the energy conservation business and I can use it to show my customers where cold air is leaking in around doors or windows or where heat is escaping to the outside. The light will go from green to red or from green to blue depending on whether the temperature is going up or down. Nothing beats a visual indication of what is going on and this gives you that. The light registers when you first read a base temperature then when it changes it goes to blue for colder or red for warmer in 1-5-10 degree increments depending on where it is set. Personally I am no fan of Black and Decker products. I avoid them as being cheap foreign made and low quality. However, this thing works for me and I have had it for two years without any problem.
