Answer:	This is a good question, and the people trying to answer here are ignorant, lol. Of COURSE it has batteries, internal, rechargeable ones. And there's LOTS of reasons to want to have access to them. What if one goes weak or bad? You can replace it for about $4...or you can chunk the whole thing in the garbage. Also, the batteries that come with it are probably cheap massed produced batteries - for probably $15-$20 dollars you could replace them with latest technology, cutting edge performance Lithium Ion batteries that would give twice the runtime and more light output. So, its a good question. I won't buy anything that doesn't give me access to the batteries.

Answer:	Dont buy these. They work okay and last awhile but not bright and they have charging issues with the cable. The solar charging works minimal and it will not charge your device very well.
