Answer:	As of October 2020, "Notes" listed on Amazon under this product indicate that this ladder is designed for one-time use (as is the case, by the way, for the Kidde brand's version of this ladder). Copied and pasted below: "Notes： Designed for ONE TIME use only and should only be deployed in the event of a home emergency. ... " Point being, a practice run requires additional ladder purchase. No doubt Hausse and the lion's share of other emergency ladder manufacturers recognize that repacking their product teeters on impossible, and tangling a deployed ladder is inevitable. If the ladder is then stored in a tangled condition, it has the potential to hinder escape and ultimately defeat its sole function -- saving lives -- in an emergency. Answer:	Yes, I think so. It is fairly heavy duty, but that's a good thing. If you train the 8 yr old and revisit every few months they should be fine. Keep in mind that the 8 yr old will be 9 next year and 10 the year after, etc. You are buying this product for an emergency that may come years in the future or never at all. I would say, yes, get it. You'll sleep better with the peace of mind.
Question:	Is this really 50 foot? I only count 12 rings in the picture, and they would need to be 4 feet apart to be 50 feet long. That seems...off
Answer:	There is another company making a comparable product out of aluminum. That makes the ladder lighter. However, I believe that aluminum is not as fully fire resistant as steel is. I think That’s why the other one is listed as one time use. If you open the owner’s manual on this one , you will see instructions on how to refold and repack it. So it would seem to be Pretty clear that you can reuse this one.

Question:	With a brick exterior, our window width is just over 18"", from brick exterior to the lip of the inside sill. Will this securely cover that distance
Answer:	I have the same question, which I need an answer to before I know whether or not I can order this item. I ordered a ladder last week, only to find after receiving it that it needs a window sill width of 8" or less, and mine is 18" as the other questioner.

Answer:	The X-It ladder shown will not work without a window sill. They do sell a permanent wall mount that can be used on windows without a sill. That seems to mean that the ladder must be used on that window only though. Take a look at their website, here is what it says:"X-IT's grapple hook secures to the inside corner of the window sill. The load is transfered through the sill into the structure below the window, so a weak sill should not impact your X-IT Ladder. If you do not have a window sill use X-IT's permanent mount accessory".
Question:	FOR AMAZON OR THE MANUFACTURER: What is the minimum and maximum window sill depth for this ladder? The specs don't seem to provide this information
