Answer:	Yes the EX8000 used as a wifi extender you have the option of having a guest network. You can use same SSID name as your main router or use a different SSID altogether. I did have issues with more than one extender on the same network using same SSID name as main router so I had to change one of the extenders to a different SSID.

Question:	I want a hub to give 5v to my blue yeti mic., as well as to power a wd 3tb portable drive. i need powered and data ports. 3.0 is future proofing
Answer:	The IQ ports just provide power. They don't provide a data connection. So you'd need a data connection that delivered 1.3 amps. Some drives provide a "Y" cable that allows you to connection to two ports. One of them is the data connection, the other is providing just additional power. The data ports on this provide .9 amps each so you could use two of those or figure out which connection on the "Y" cable is data and which is just power and connect the one that is just power up to the IQ port. If you just have one USB connection on your cable you might need to find another hub that provides 1.3 Amps (i.e. 1300 mA) or more.

Question:	Mine makes popping noise while the drive is writing. Is this normal, or should I return it
Answer:	Inside this housing is a 2.5" laptop-style HDD, with a transfer rate of 135MB/s. Also, the interface is actually USB-C, which is "Thunderbolt 3-compatible" but is not Thunderbolt 3. What this means is that USB-C drives can be connected to Thunderbolt 3 ports and they work (as part of the TB3 spec). All of that said, the drive itself is the limiting factor in the transfer rate. Many manufactures like to put out the "5GB Transfer" funny business in their specs, but they are really only referring to what the port or cable is "capable" of, however the actual hard drive determines how fast it can read and write regardless of connection used. In fact, you will get the same performance out of this particular drive whether connecting to a USB 3.0, USB-C, or Thunderbolt 3 port as all are more than capable of handling the 135MB/s that the drive can put out.

Answer:	Never owned a game console but I don’t see why not if it has a USB port-however I found this on the net -Very Important Note It’s very important to note that PS4 only accepts 250gb of usable storage space, not the actual storage capacity. That means if your drive comes with an exact 250gb storage capacity, PS4 system will REJECT it. Why? Data storage manufacturers market drives in terms of decimal (base 10) capacity. In decimal notation, one megabyte (MB) is equal to 1,000,000 bytes, one gigabyte (GB) is equal to 1,000,000,000 bytes, and one terabyte (TB) is equal to 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. PS4 system use the binary (base 2) numbering system. In the binary numbering system, one megabyte is equal to 1,048,576 bytes, one gigabyte is equal to 1,073,741,824 bytes, and one terabyte is equal to 1,099,511,627,776 bytes. Accordingly, the 256gb of USB flash drive is actually 256,000mb, which is calculated by PS4 system as an exact 250gb. But this isn’t the end of story. The drive needs to reserve a few gigabytes for the file system (around 2.5gb). Therefore, the usable storage space on the 256gb flash drive is almost 247.5gb, which is NOT acceptable by PS4 system. That’s why if you’re going to buy a flash drive for the extended storage purpose on PS4, the minimum storage capacity has to be 512gb not less.

Q: PC prompts that the USB Device Not Recognized?

A: Please try with another computer or usb device. Unplug&plug the USB cable or restart the PC.

Q: The hard drive does not show up under Windows Explorer?

A: Go to Disk management, right-click the 'Unallocated' or 'Free space' and select the New Simple Volume option. Then assign the drive letter for the disk.

Question:	Can i use this to transfer files from a seagate barracuda 7200 (3.5") to a pc
Answer:	Yes, you should be able to. Just make sure you also connect the power adapter as the Barracuda 3.5" drive draws more power than 2.5" drive.
Question:	Once connected to power,does the HDD disk runs continually (wearing it out) or it only runs when in need
Answer:	only runs when needed. its the same as if it were powered up in a desktop or laptop. i used mine to clone drives to back up hard drives, and it works very well. i was more than pleased. the main issue with some is the usb power is not sufficient, the power adapter solves that.
Question:	Will this power an external ssd without an ac adapter
Answer:	I have mine connected to an older 3 1/2" SATA hard drive with no problems. Also used it for older IDE Drives. It had its own 12v 2A power source included. That's what it is designed for. Most external SSD with adapters are for USB and this unit has none.
Question:	Can I use this for a 5.25 optical drive
Answer:	YES but the power supply must be connected because the USB only supplies 5 volts and the drive needs 12 volt to work..

Question:	I have an external hard drive "seagate backup plus 3tb usb 3.0 external desktop hard drive". can i use this for my external hard drive
Answer:	Yes you can. Seems to be that the multiple platters of drives over 1.5 TB draw too much from USB ports. On Macs the operating system automatically shuts down the offending port to prevent damage from high draw. I used this adapter to mirror a replacement 3 TB HD for my Mac. Worked like a charm.

Answer:	That sounds like a hybrid IDE / PATA connector. If what you see on your drive doesn't have a SATA connector, this will NOT work for that drive. Question:	Is the AC power required for reading both 2.5" and 3.5" disks, or like many other adapters without AC power, is USB sufficient to power 2.5" disks
Answer:	USB power is enought to run 2.5" disk, but for 3.5" disk you need to power the Adapter for stable operation.
