Unplug and move and re-check the reading. If this does not resolve the issue send it back for a new one. Mine has worked well for 6 months so far.

Answer:	I returned these detectors. They don't have any information printed on the case - no manufacturer name, no instructions, no UL approved indicator, etc. These were made in China which is usually okay but I am not comfortable in relying on them to protect my family.
