This alarm can be mounted three ways: plug directly into AC receptacle, mount on tabletop using 8 foot power cord, or wall-mount. The digital readout continuously displays carbon monoxide levels from 30-999 parts per million. This unit has a loud, 85-decibel alarm that sounds when CO reaches dangerous levels. One of the features of this product is peak level memory, which means this unit will recall highest level of CO present since previous reset. Install at least one CO alarm on every floor and in sleeping areas. Make sure CO alarms are at least 15 feet away from cooking or heating appliances to prevent false alarms. Answer:	When I used the digital gas detector to test it worked fine.
Question:	How far apart are the mounting holes
Answer:	There are two possible causes. The unit was not zeroed out upon activation or you do have a very low level of gas in your home atmosphere, with the first being my best guess. Unplug and move and re-check the reading. If this does not resolve the issue send it back for a new one. Mine has worked well for 6 months so far.
Question:	Why is the 2 pack more than 2 times the price of the single detector
Answer:	I returned these detectors. They don't have any information printed on the case - no manufacturer name, no instructions, no UL approved indicator, etc. These were made in China which is usually okay but I am not comfortable in relying on them to protect my family. I will be researching further and looking for better detectors that can be trusted.

Question:	When I unplug this device the green light goes off even though the batteries are installed as a backup. Is that normal
Answer:	It's about 5 1/2 in from hinge to hinge ~ 14.5 cm. It does provide full cover. The foam is flush with my face without being uncomfortable. It however is not waterproof. The foam has air slots so it can breathe. I've used these for Chemistry lab as well as wood working, and they work great.

Answer:	They stay on surprisingly well! I use them for my dog grooming business. They are light weight so that works good for me. They might be a bit too light for sports. If you got hit with a ball they would probably crack and potentially cut you.

Answer:	This would work will for that purpose because it responds quickly. The home CO meters have a long response delay. This one responds in less than a minute. Six months after first use it alerts you to calibrate. You can ignore that if you are only after a reasonable level of alarm. I think it will continue to work fairly accurately for a couple of years. It can be sent back for calibration for around $35. However, a normal home CO meter would be less costly and work fairly well, not need calibraion, and last about 10 years. You can also get a combination smoke and CO detector which would provide additional alert capability.

Answer:	I don't know the difference. I do consider this unit to be well built, accurate and has the functions I needed. It give running ppm levels and peak level. Perfect for taking fireplace readings and even exhaust levels.

Question:	How do you reset this? It has an old reading that I'd like to clear so its not confused with any new reading.I tried turning it off and recalibrating
Answer:	Coming from a professional pencil salesperson, if you are experiencing a lot of color pencils that are breaking when you are sharpening them, and you are using a single blade type sharpener, most likely your blade is dull and is putting too much friction on the color cores, and snapping them off just inside the wood casing. I would try changing the blade out on your sharpener or purchasing a new sharpener to not waste color pencils. An Alvin brand 9866 or 9868 brass sharpener style is a "lifetime buy" since the sharpener is indestructible, and the blades are cheaply replaceable.
Question:	Does this register carbon monoxide levels lower than 9ppm? Will the display show 5ppm for example or just 0 to 9ppm
Answer:	Sorry, I have not used them with cra-z-art colored pencils. However, I feel they work best with oil based pencils instead of wax based. Cra-z-art may be waxed based?? Sorry...
Question:	The plastic holder cracked. Can I buy a replacement
Answer:	I use oil pencils to add finer details with oil pastels. These work with the oil pencils but you do need to be careful not to go over the oil pastels with the same force you would use on the pencil marks because you can chip away layers of the pastels.
Question:	Does this unit record and save readings
Answer:	Yes!!! I hadn't heard it should but I just tested and I can go through my coloring with a wet brush and nothing happens. Wish I could post a picture for you to see but don't know how. :(
