Answer:	You need to purchase a 4" suction hose which is ridged and a discharge hose which is soft.

Answer:	I draw water from about 5-feet below the surface. The discharge is about 6-feet above surface. It pushes water up about 2-feet and out about 8 to 10 feet. The discharge end is just the 2-nich opening. Hope this helps.

Answer:	It depends more on how far you have to lift the water in that 100 ft, you will need to put a foot valve on it where it goes into the pond, fill the pipe with water from the pump primer port befor you start the pump as it can’t suck the water up that far to prime the pump

Question:	I have a 12 Ft. Deep pond I want to pump out. How far down can I pump it with this. How well will this pump suction when pulling water up hill. Thanks
Answer:	the intake will hang about 11 ft down into your pond...but depending on how high up the hill is...that is where you might find problems..the grade of the hill is important as well as who long the hose going up the hill is..if your hill is 25 long and it is 10 feet higher then where your pump is..that is about the limit..what you will find is you will lose "prime"..this is the suction of the pump..and the pump may overheat causing it to shut down.
Question:	will this water pump work for me to pump water out of the lake on to my grass
Answer:	I use one of these regularly and the answer to your question as asked is yes, it will move 158 gallons of water a minute from the lake onto your grass. The pump will have to be close enough to the lake for the end of the pickup tube to be submerged in the water and there are some vertical limitations as to how high the pump can be above the lake - check the specs. Once the water gets to the pump, you've got to figure out how to handle it. It's quite a stream if the motor on the pump is cranked up. We use a 50' flexible extension in addition to the included output hose and just hold the end in our hands like a fire hose - it's hard, wet work. But it does move a lot of water and fills our need perfectly.

Answer:	No, you have to prime it. The priming process is very easy though. I just dip a bucket into the ditch where I'm pumping from and fill up the chamber. I've thought of having another funnel to use when I pour the water in, but it really isn't necessary.

Question:	Can this be used for potable water? Is it safe to drink after the transfer assuming it wasn't used for non-potable liquids first
Answer:	Why would you not be able to ! Providing you have NEVER used it for anything else but water ! I would use a glass of soapy water first then pure water and use it regularly BUT if ever gas or etc . Would never use for water again ! All it does is make a siphone I wouldn’t hesitate to use for drinking water after running soapy water first like you would for new glasses from a store !

Answer:	I don't see any reason why not. But once used for solvents or chemicals, it shouldn't be used for anything but that.
Question:	Can you tell me the width of the pump tube? I have something similar to yours but it will not fit into the tank of a weedwacker or blower
Answer:	The pump tube is not designed to go into most small tanks on a weed eater (or similar product). This pump is used to transfer fluids from a portable gas can or anything with a large opening. This fill nozzle is much smaller than the pump tube . The pump tube at the bottom is approximately 1 1/2 inches, the main tube is approximately 3/4 inches, and the fill nozzle is approximately 1/2 inches. Why not turn the weed eater over and drain the gas from it instead of spending money you don't have to?
Question:	Is there some type of protector/rubber boot that can prevent gas fumes from escaping
Answer:	No there is not rubber boot. You only insert it long enough to pump the gas or fuel out of the can. I use it regularly and I have not issues with fumes. Using this is just like using the spout on the gas/fuel container you buy, except you don't have to lift it to empty it. Fumes escape when you use the spout. Hopefully you plan to use it outside, and not near open flames.

Question:	Does it come with drill bit you need to install it
Answer:	I use it to pump down the level of an in ground swimming pool. It runs for aprox 24 hrs to pump down the pool (20Ft x 40 Ft) aprox 6-8 inches. I don't see why it would not work from a rain barrel.
Question:	Can this be installed on a steel tank
Answer:	I would think so, since the valve is spring loaded.
Question:	what size/thread are the ports
Answer:	Hey Roy,I have not noticed any bypass leak in this check valve, but my pump runs on a daily basis. So long as there is no buildup on the valve seat, I would guess that the valve would hold its "prime". If you are losing prime, check your line for leaks. many submersible well pumps also have a foot check valve to retain prime which can get gunked up and go bad after time. This Flotec is well made and really not expensive - I'd give it a go first! Good luck.Walt

Answer:	It comes with everything except the pressure hose Which I just use my garden hose. This is a great pump for the money
Question:	How long will it run on a tank of gas
Answer:	10-15 minutes at full throttle to pump it up to 12 feet in height. And it won't draw from a running stream as I needed it for only still water.
Question:	Can I close the water output with the pump running
Answer:	I do this everyday on my pump and it’s never hurt it. The pump has at least 300 hours on it. I’ve never Done this for more than a minute though.
Question:	On the honda site for the wx10 it says it self-primes, this mode sold on amazon says wx10ta. whats the difference and why people say doesnt selfprime
Answer:	Some people may misinterpret the term self-priming. Every self-priming centrifugal pump in the world must have the pump case filled with water before starting.
