Question:	I have about 10in between the bottom and lid where the water valve is, but only about 8in in clearance where the flapper is, will this work
Answer:	This valve fits two piece 2" standard drain toilets and requires a minimum of 10" height clearance from the drain hole to the inside lid of the tank with the flapper top and base completely removed. If the drain hole has a raised collar above the tank floor that reduces the clearance to 8", the this valve will not fit. The same is true for the one piece version of this toilet valve as well.
Question:	How is the quality of the button? Is it real metal, or chrome covered plastic

Question:	Will allow a 3.5 gallon tank to be filled
Answer:	Yes, the amount of fill water for any give tank size is determined by the filler valve settings. The filler valve can be extended as required to achieve the desired tank water height and also fine adjusted with a thumbscrew. Question:	How much water in gallons is used with #1 flush and #2 flush
Answer:	Depending on the toilet tank capacity and aspect ratio, the #1 half flush can often be reduced to as low as 1/2 gallon on a 1 1/2 toilet. Then the #2 full flush can similarly be reduced to 1 gallon or less depending on personal preference. Also note that the little adjustable bowl filler valve is often overlooked and can save another 1/4 to 1/2 gallon per flush in not overfilling the bowl.

Question:	does it include a fill tube? the images do not show a fill tube for the flapper to clip onto
Answer:	In the picture from left to right: The valve, black locking nut, under which is the piece that holds tube (not shown but is supplied) to overflow tube, red washer with corresponding black locking nut*, and finally is the optional white locking tab to prevent unwanted accidental adjustments. *The red washer and corresponding nut are not used unless this is a new install. If replacing an existing valve, you will connect the existing supply hose or tube to valve. Even with new installs, you would most likely use a new flexible braided hose that comes with the proper nuts attached on both ends therefore the red washer and nut is not needed.

Answer:	In the specifications for this valve, it is stated that the valve replaces s TSU18A Toto fill valve. A TSU18A is designed for a TOTO one piece toilet, either a GMAX or a Power Gravity. I used this valve for a 743S Toto toilet without a problem and it was an one piece toilet.

Answer:	No. THU9021 is a junction valve. This is a fill valve (universal) for inside of the tank. The TSU99A.X was a perfect replacement for the OEM TSU18A fill valve that started leaking after 26 months.

Answer:	The cable box inside the tank that connects to the flush handle is approximately 2 1/8" x 2 5/8" rectangular. Note that it can be positioned either vertically or horizontally as required for the best cable routing. Also note that the other key dimensions are shown in the 3rd picture in the listing.

Answer:	That's right on the edge of the maximum drain size for this kit and it might leak if not installed precisely. However, we do sell optional adapter rings for over sized drains like this one and thst will definitely solve the problem. The rings are not available on Amazon because they are best installed by a knowledgeable DIY or plumber and we like to explain what is involved. Question:	How do I make the flush lever tight? I've tried using both the lock nut and the lever gasket? I don't have enough space to fit both of them
Answer:	Not sure if you are asking about the original or the updated model. The latter has a square rubber gasket that is supposed to fint into the square hole in the tank. I thrown that away and just tightened the plastic nut with a set of locking pliers. It never came lose in a couple of years now. I recall it is a reverse direction thread, ( verify the direction it tightens befor you put it on, just in case i am wrong). the gasket is not critical IMO
Question:	Where can I find a handle replacement it broke but everything else is good I just need the handle
Answer:	Yup...I had this problem, too. I called Customer Service at Fluidmaster for a part. They didn't have handles, which I learned broke regularly. Answer:	All required washer locknut and clip come inside the package- yes you still need them as it will install as an exact match to what was there previously
Question:	Whats the coil spring for
Answer:	Well my Kohler toilet had a Ball and arm that came in it originally and it started leaking, and I used this to replace it. Was really quite easy to do, most difficult part is removing the water inside the tank that's left over after you turn off the water and flush. I used several old towels. You could also if you had enough space undo the fill valve and have a container to catch the water. Other than that its quite easy.
Question:	Okay I'm not too handy but what is the spring for
Answer:	Mine had the same problem! It just spun. Somethign was stuck and I got extremely frustrated. The directions said to turn, but that did nothing. Turns out the whole base can be pulled straight out if the retaining collar is slid upward. After sliding that collar up, give it a good yank. Just don't break the valve and float at the top; I just about did. This fluidmaster video explains how. It's not the exact match, but is pretty much the same exact setup since Fluidmaster makes the official Kohler fill valve. Question:	Is the flapper for 2 inch toilets
Answer:	It's a variation on the 400 series. Fluidmaster makes maybe over a dozen different versions including OEM versions sold by Kohler, PerforMAX versions, ones with brass shanks, etc. The only thing that seems to be exactly the same among all versions is the float and the (replaceable) seal. Almost every Fluidmaster fill valve (including the 747PRO) uses the Model 242 seal. As others noted, it comes with a set of restrictor inserts to reduce the amount of water going into the bowl. You want to use the one that just manages to fill the bowl to the maximum around the same time as the tank is filled. I found the green one is installed in 400A valves in an American Standard Cadet 3. Those factory installed valves are EXACTLY the same as retail 400A valves, except for the insert and that they use a hex nut (which requires a tool to install/remove) rather than a wing nut that has to be tightened/loosened by hand. Someone mentioned the roller clamp in the PerforMAX. Fluidmaster has a newer one (400H) that uses a dial that varies the restriction. Much easier to adjust than the roller clamp. Fluidmaster has also been adding a bigger adjustment knob to most of its fill valves, so the photo might not reflect that yet.

Answer:	It does not come with with flush valve nor tank bolts. Therefore if you have Mansfield valve, you will need to buy one separately in order to install this unit.
Question:	This this work on a sloped flapper
Answer:	I installed this in my girlfriend's toilet, and it has a sloped drain. I thought I needed the plastic spacer to attach the drain valve assembly, but it did not seal. After realizing there is a rubber bushing/spacer, I replaced the plastic shim with the rubber and that stopped the leaking. So far this proves to be holding.
Question:	Will this work in any standard toilet
Answer:	NO it won't. doesn't work in Mansfield toilets.
Question:	My toilet has a 3in drain from the tank to the bowl. Will this product fit
Answer:	Three inches sounds about right. If it is a standard toilet, with standard plumbing, it should work just fine. The interface with the tank drain pipe is conical, as can be seen in the photograph of the unit, to compensate for any slight variations there might be with the width of said drain pipe interface, as are conventional flappers.

Answer:	The hose is actually stainless but the piece connecting it to the faucet is plastic with a stainless look.
Question:	Can this be used on the ms863113 #03 supreme round one piece toilet
Answer:	I'm not sure it even has one! I reduce the Flow by the faucet itself. It really pours out the water! It does have an on-off on the handheld unit but I would suggest not using that because the Plumbing between the faucet and the shower head can be faulty, and if you plug the water up at the handheld set it can cause leakage in the wall!
