Question:	What gauge is the cord? - i require 12 awg - i am an electrician don't give me run around talk
Answer:	Contact the supplier, ClearMax store. They do list the guage size in their other cord offerings. It seems like a major typo not to describe that basic spec.
Question:	Disposal installed -without a grommet or strain relief to protect the wires. Is there a grommet or strain relief to install without removing it
Answer:	The enclosed threaded metal bushing has a clamp section to prevent wire strain. Or.... Remove more of the black jacket material from the harness to expose more wire. Insert wires through the bushing, then wrap the wires in a loose knot where the black jacket ends so it creates a strain relief, leaving enough wire length to complete the connections to the disposal motor. If possible, perform this before installing the disposal so you can install and test your connections in a more convenient work area.
Question:	What guage wire
Answer:	I can't remember for certain. If I was to guess its a 12....maybe a 14 but I would think its 12. However it is stranded wire not solid if that matters to you. It worked perfectly for the job of the garbage disposal. Hope this helps.
Question:	Does it work for whirlpool garbage disposal model GC
Answer:	I used this kit to hook up an Insinkerator garbage disposal. The kit is just as shown. A three wire cord that you would attach to your disposal. Your disposal instructions should show you how to wire it up. I had to knock out a piece of metal in the housing as shown in my instructions. Then I could access where the wires would hook up to the wires in the disposal. There was also a little protective piece that screwed into the housing to protect the cord from rubbing on sharp points of housing when knock out plug was knocked out. This piece slides on to the cord piror to connecting the wires. Get it pointed the correct way to screw into the disposal housing. Then wire it up matching the colors of the wire per your instructions. It was very easy. This was the easiest part of the disposal replacement!

Question:	Does anyone have the problem of the the EZ install version vibrating loose, since it is mounted with plastic parts
Answer:	I have a Sinkmaster 550 that I installed over 30 years ago. It looks identical to this Waste King, same EZ- Mount too. Mine did work loose, and I discovered it about a year ago. LOL. I noticed calcium stains on the disposal when I was replacing the dishwasher. I was able to tighten it back up by hand. If this thing gets loose or dies before I do, I will use blue thread locker.

Answer:	We had a Waste King in our home with the "EZ-Mount" attachment. (The black plastic part at the top of the photo.) The EZ-Mount sounds great -- no tools are required, and you simply turn a large plastic fitting until it is tightly fastened to your sink. Unfortunately, however, there is no way to prevent the fitting from coming loose. It repeatedly loosened up under our sink, which caused water leaks that damaged the cabinet. I switched to an Insinkerator Evolution with a standard 3-bolt mount. The Evolution costs a bit more, but it is very quiet. After I installed it, I had to turn the water off to make sure it was running! (The Waste King sounded like most disposals -- a loud rumble and roar.) So... whatever brand you buy, look for the standard 3-bolt mount. It is easy to install and does not loosen. Regarding the drain, every disposal has a slightly different drain height. This is typically easy to adjust with the plastic plumbing used for most modern installations. You can probably loosen the tube (by hand) that connects to your Badger and adjust it for your new disposal. Answer:	If your present disposal does not have a wall switch you will either need a wall switch or order a button for on the sink. The disposal does not come with a switch. This item is optional.

Answer:	I spoke with the Waste King support staff prior to my purchase of the model 9980 disposer. They confirmed that the only differnce is the mounting system. The 9980 utilizes three bolts to seucre the disposer to the sink. Addtionally, the system fits flush with the sink making it easy for debris/food to enter the disposer.

Answer:	Yikes. You just push it up and down in the drain and it brushes off the flexible pieces of the garburator.
Question:	Is it easy to keep the scrubbing brush clean in order to continue to use this for some time
Answer:	Yes. I add a squirt of simple dishwashing detergent to the wet brush before inserting it into the disposal unit, move it around to reach the sides of the disposer, then with my hand cupped over the disposer to prevent splash, I pull the brush out, then in & out again to clean the underside of the splash guard; rinse the brush & let it dry. The brush and your disposal unit will be clean.

Question:	Does this garbage disposal have a dishwasher hookup
Answer:	Hello and thank you for your interest in the Moen GX50C Garbage Disposal. The unit does allow for a dishwasher hookup. If you plan on installing a dishwasher drain to the disposal, a 7/8” dishwasher connector kit (Moen Part 1023) is needed. Question:	Does this unit have an Allen socket that can be used to unclog jams
Answer:	It does not, but because of the type motor used in Moen disposers you don't need one. Jamming is not an issue because the motors are much higher speed than some other brands- and the motors start at full speed. Other brands start slower and wind up to full speed- which allows jams to occur.
Question:	Could this disposal be hard wired
Answer:	Yes, hardwired mine, even has instructions how to remove the plug. My original wire shielding didn't fit the indent on the disposal but I was able to work around the issue.

I have no idea if it would come become unsealed with back pressure in your sink. I think it would depend on how tight it fits in your drain. I am very happy with ours. I bought one for each side of our double sink. They are very nice looking and quality is great.

Question:	Is it septic Tank safe also dose the cord come with it
Answer:	Septic systems do NOT like to have any solid foods put down them. That said, if you are going to install one on a septic tank, this one is as good as any. Yes, this unit comes with a power cord with a standard 3-Prong 120v plug.
Question:	I am looking for a unit that will be direct wired (no outlet). Will this unit work
Answer:	I direct wired it but it wasn't easy to remove the plug. I ended up having to cut the cord and mutilate the grommet the cord went through in order to get it out. In my opinion if there's one without a cord that's a few dollars more I'd buy that one.
