Question:	Does this garbage disposal have a dishwasher hookup
Answer:	Hello and thank you for your interest in the Moen GX50C Garbage Disposal. The unit does allow for a dishwasher hookup. If you plan on installing a dishwasher drain to the disposal, a 7/8” dishwasher connector kit (Moen Part 1023) is needed. Question:	Does this unit have an Allen socket that can be used to unclog jams
Answer:	It does not, but because of the type motor used in Moen disposers you don't need one. Jamming is not an issue because the motors are much higher speed than some other brands- and the motors start at full speed. Other brands start slower and wind up to full speed- which allows jams to occur.
Question:	Could this disposal be hard wired
Answer:	Yes, hardwired mine, even has instructions how to remove the plug. My original wire shielding didn't fit the indent on the disposal but I was able to work around the issue.
Question:	Does this have the removable splash guard? And does it allow water to drain quickly

Question:	Does anyone have the problem of the the EZ install version vibrating loose, since it is mounted with plastic parts
Answer:	I have a Sinkmaster 550 that I installed over 30 years ago. It looks identical to this Waste King, same EZ- Mount too. Mine did work loose, and I discovered it about a year ago. LOL. I noticed calcium stains on the disposal when I was replacing the dishwasher. I was able to tighten it back up by hand. If this thing gets loose or dies before I do, I will use blue thread locker.
Question:	I need to replace an insinkerator badger 5. would this be able to b installed easily where the old one was w/o having to reinstall the drain partstall
Answer:	We had a Waste King in our home with the "EZ-Mount" attachment. (The black plastic part at the top of the photo.) The EZ-Mount sounds great -- no tools are required, and you simply turn a large plastic fitting until it is tightly fastened to your sink. Unfortunately, however, there is no way to prevent the fitting from coming loose. It repeatedly loosened up under our sink, which caused water leaks that damaged the cabinet. I switched to an Insinkerator Evolution with a standard 3-bolt mount. The Evolution costs a bit more, but it is very quiet. After I installed it, I had to turn the water off to make sure it was running! (The Waste King sounded like most disposals -- a loud rumble and roar.) So... whatever brand you buy, look for the standard 3-bolt mount. It is easy to install and does not loosen. Regarding the drain, every disposal has a slightly different drain height. This is typically easy to adjust with the plastic plumbing used for most modern installations. You can probably loosen the tube (by hand) that connects to your Badger and adjust it for your new disposal. Answer:	According to my measurement, at the 7 inch down area it is 5 inches wide.... 7 inches takes it just below the drain out crossover and is at the main body of the unit..... hope this helps.

Answer:	BONES, PAPER TOWELS..REALLY??? Why would you put that in ANY disposal??? This is a great disposal, but I would not recommend any of that in any disposal!!!!
Question:	Does this have a dishwasher inlet port
Answer:	There is "plugged" dishwasher drain water hose. If you use this, you need to knock out the plug. This is easy to do.Onc thing that surprised me is the size of the dishwasher drain hose fitting, which measures over 1" OD, where as the drain hose on my dishwasher is 7/8" ID!

Answer:	This particular unit comes with a cord with a plug. You plug it into a switched wall socket to operate. But you can buy a version that is meant to be hard-wired to a switch, and that can switch can be an air switch as much as it can be anything else. I think ANY disposal can be used with an air switch if wired properly.

Question:	versus 300 seems to be the difference, but did anyone do research on InSinkErator Evolution Excel before deciding on this product
Answer:	I've replaced more InSinkErators in my life - probably one for each year of your life. I've bought them from Amazon, Big Box stores, Plummer's Supply, etc. - If I got 2 years out of them I considered it a success. So far, I gotten 3+ years out of my 1HP Waste King, and it's still going strong. Go with the aste King and not the sales pitch.
Question:	My existing disposal is hard-wired (not plugged into the wall) Can I hard wire Waste King or do I need to install outlet
Answer:	I've installed five Waste King disposals in the last three years for friends and family, and I have found it easier to just install an outlet to plug the disposal into. Turn off power to the existing disposal, use the wire (if it's Romex) that's already there, buy a surface-mount box, outlet, and an outlet cover - then wire it in, install the new disposal, and plug it in. I think it's much easier than trying to direct-wire the new disposal with (what is usually very stiff) Romex. Also this way you can then use a disposal air switch control that plugs into this new outlet, and then your disposal cord plugs into that. Since your old disposal is most likely controlled by a wall switch, just leave the switch in the "on" position and from then on use the air switch.
Question:	What does "lifetime" mean. If I am 25 and it konks out when I am 50, what do I get? Is it pro-rated
Answer:	This is the best. I bought mine in 2013 (5 years ago) and its worked perfectly, until a couple of days ago, it would not start. Power to GFCI plug on, reset button tripped. When I reset the button, it came on about 1/2 second and stopped. Troubleshooting indicates the brushes on the electromagnetic motor need replacement. I called Anaheim customer service (the company that manufactures Waste King and all they needed was the original purchase date, my name, and the serial number from the unit. A brand new replacement unit should arrive in a couple of days. Zero charge for the unit or shipping fee. They offered to have a plumber come install it too, also no charge, however, since I’m pretty handy, I don’t need that. The total time on the call to resolve the warranty replacement was about 15 minutes, due to an approximate 3 minute wait time to speak to the representative. All is needed to complete the warranty process is the serial number tag from the existing unit and the serial number from the new one, mailed back in to Anaheim Manufacturing. Easy peasy!! Great service and they stand behind the lifetime warranty!
Question:	Has any one had problems with the "easy mount" on a SS sink? The cushion mount slipped out of the mount ring on the second day.Is vibration a problem
Answer:	The Easy Mount doesn't seal well on a SS sink. I've had a plumber out a couple of times to remedy the sink seal. Last fix was a couple of years ago and we just discovered it's leaking again.

Question:	Will this disposal work with a 9.25” deep sink. Without moving plumbing and specifically drain
Answer:	From the InSinkErator website: "Every InSinkErator is shipped with a self-service wrench. The wrench is silver colored, and shaped like a little crank, about four inches long. If you cannot find the wrench, you can use a standard 1/4-inch Allen wrench, or click here to order a replacement."This implies that every InSinkErator disposal does have the hole. It might not feel like it's there if the wrench you try to use is too big or too small.BTW, We just unjammed our disposal using a 1/4" Allen wrench. It did take some muscle -- my husband had to do it because I could not get it to turn, and it even took him some effort -- but it worked!
Question:	I have a badger 1 1/2 , can I easily replace it with this one
Answer:	27.3”, but don’t buy it. Good design, but works very bad. I regret I bought it

Answer:	Be sure the flush button does not get stuck in down position as you flush

Answer:	I believe all was included. We had a plumber install but he did not say anything was missing. Since the float mechanism is different from most US devices I had to play with the part that sits under the flush buttons to get them to the right level to avoid running. They easily screw in or out as needed but was not clear from the directions. Been working great.

Question:	i have a badger 1 1/3 how do i get the bottom off to wire it straight out of wall
Answer:	There is no fragrance added so it just smells like the combination of ingredients from which it is made. So it has it's own unique smell that I really don't know how to describe it. I asked my 10 year old daughter to describe it, to get a child's opinion and she said "smells like nothin". I really like the smell myself, but the smell dissipates very fast after you put it on your beard. At least it does to me.Some days I like to add a drop or two of an essential oil to the balm in the palm of my hand before I apply it. I like to use spearmint or peppermintbut you could add any scent you like. That is one of the reasons why we didn't add a scent, so that you could make it smell like whatever you like.I prefer a comb on my beard especially for applying beard balm. I think a comb does a better job of covering each hair individually. I find the best time to apply it is right out of the shower when your beard is clean and damp.

Answer:	The comb is a good quality, stamped plastic comb. It is supplied so that you will have a designated comb to use with your beard balm, so that you do not get in trouble, by using your wife's hair brush. It is not hand cut by Elves, or made out of unicorn horn. This comb is not intended to replace your expensive beard comb, it's just a bonus for you if you don't have one.

Question:	Can I use my existing Insinkerator stainless steel sink flange with the WK L
Answer:	Years ago I tried to use the existing flange. I must have had a problem enough to go out in the garbage and replaced the original with it. Since then and over the past 60 some odd years, every time I had to replace, I used what was provided for by the manufacturer even if it was the same manufacturer.
Question:	What is the difference in the 3200 and the 9940? Both are 3/4hp but the top of the unit appears different
Answer:	The 3200 has an "EZ Mount." This mount system is easier to install, hence its name, and is made out of aluminum. It has a removable splash guard that makes it easier to clean thoroughly. The 9940 has a 3-Bolt Mount made out of stainless steel which is stronger. However, it does not have a removable splash guard.
Question:	My current disposer is hard wired in and I see this unit comes with an extension cord/plug. Is it possible to hard wire this one in if removing cord
Answer:	Yes, it's possible...but not easy. Just finished doing it myself. You can pop the bottom off easy enough to get to where the wires connect. The problem is, where the cord goes into the unit, there's some sort of rubber grommet, that makes it impossible to get to the old cord out. You have to cut that grommet out, and then you have to provide your own metal cord clamp to put in the resulting hole. Not impossible, if you know what you're doing...but not easy. In hindsight, I should have just wired an outlet to my switch, and then plugged this directly in to that outlet.
Question:	what is the difference between waste king 3300 and 3200 - they seem the same
Answer:	Based on their website, the 3300 is a bit bigger and heavier, draws more current (6 amps v. 4.5) and has a 10-year warranty, compared to 8 years for the 3200. So, it likely has a beefier motor.

Question:	Is this the unit that operates with a wall switch? I don't want the one that uses the switch in the drain plug
Answer:	Yes, it's hardwired from the disposal and plugs into receptacle under the sink which is wired to the wall switch to turn the unit on and off. The wiring and electrical connector do not come with the unit and have to be purchased separately.
Question:	After I installed the disposer, the sink does not drain unless I am actually running the disposer. Any ideas on what might be causing this
Answer:	I just replaced my 9 year old insinkerator 444 with an evolution compact and it drains with the same rapid velocity, without the disposer motor on, as the 444 using the same trap and dishwasher drain setup. InSinkErator makes great products and provides very good support for their products. Give them a call and request help.
Question:	As a DIY install, can the Evolution Compact 3/4hp unit replace an Insinkerator 1/3hp model w/o modifications
Answer:	I was able to replace my 1/2 HP Badger 5 disposal (which appears to be the same size as the 1/3 HP Badger 1) with this model without any problems. This biggest difference with the Evolution is it is noticeably wider (8 3/4") than the Badger models (6 5/16"), so the drain is going to be in a different spot and you *might* have to do some plumbing work if you can't adjust the drain. (I was able to adjust my drain pipe so it fit OK with the Evolution.)
Question:	While this product gets many 5* reviews - it's the those with the unit the longest that are giving 1*. Can someone who has had it awhile comment
Answer:	When you read the reviews, its immediately obvious that they did not buy the Evolution Compact 3/4 HP InSinkErator model that the ratings are linked to. This model comes with an In-Home 8 year warranty. Different models come with 1, 2 or 4 year warranty's, but this unit is 8 years...Simply read the attached warranty details and buyer beware.

Question:	do i need to purchase the dishwasher connector
Answer:	We replaced our disposal so we had a dishwasher previously connected and did not need a dishwasher connector. So if you are just replacing your disposal you likely have what you need to connect the dishwasher. If putting in for the first time you might need a connector.
Question:	Can I use this with my own sink flange
Answer:	Probably yes, based on my own experience. We had an Emerson a long time ago (15 years) which went bad and I replaced with the 1/2 HP Badger. Did not have to change the flange. It was a real "in place drop-in". Last week, the Badger died (lasted about the 15 years I mention), and I bought this one as replacement. I did not replace the flange again. It was another "drop-in" although I had to install a wall outlet under the sink to plug it in. No problem with one of those blue boxes.
Question:	Will this fit the space where there's now a badger 5 1/2hp? i.e., is the 5xp 3/4hp any bigger
Answer:	It will fit, case seems the exact same.

I assume this means the inner-components are a bit more durable but from the listed specifications, i see no meaningful difference (outside the warranty and quietness) between the compact and XTR model as listed components appear the same: 3/4 horsepower, 1725 RPM, 34.6 oz. grind chamber, 2-Stage MultiGrind Technology, Quiet SoundSeal Technology.

Question:	The top is black. When you look in the sink, do you see black or does it have stainless to match a stainless sink

Question:	will this garbage disposal fit any sink? does it have a connection for the dishwasher
Answer:	Helo there, Yes, this is a standard fit that 99.9% of the sinks use. And yes, it has a dishwasher connector to the side of the device. Please make sure you have clearance of at least 12" in the under cabinet where this garbage disposal device will be installed.I hope this is helpful.
Question:	Is it septic Tank safe also dose the cord come with it
Answer:	Septic systems do NOT like to have any solid foods put down them. That said, if you are going to install one on a septic tank, this one is as good as any. Yes, this unit comes with a power cord with a standard 3-Prong 120v plug.
Question:	I am looking for a unit that will be direct wired (no outlet). Will this unit work
Answer:	I direct wired it but it wasn't easy to remove the plug. I ended up having to cut the cord and mutilate the grommet the cord went through in order to get it out. In my opinion if there's one without a cord that's a few dollars more I'd buy that one.
