Question: Does the center of this knob use a metal core to extend it's life? Or is this only made using plastic
Answer: “Metal core” would be a bit of an exaggeration. There is a thin piece of metal with a square stamped out of it to match the valve stem this is then pressed into the plastic core of the knob. Also be advised this will not fit a genesis tank valve. Genesis uses a propriety valve stem size and regular knobs like this one will not fit.
Question: I just received the 6 knobs that I ordered. They look identical to the original knobs, but they will not fit over the threads or shaft of the valve
Answer: They don't fit all valves, there are 3 valves that all look similar but slight differences in the actual square drive or the internal diameter mean they either won't fit or foul the valve. The newer design MDE valves are completely different again.

Answer: The Danco handle fit my old (1975) valve. The Keeney unit you describe sounds like a much newer fitting. Not being familiar with the Keeney I can't really say if the Danco would or wouldn't fit.

Answer: Thank you for your question. This unloader is only rated for 4,500 max PSI. The SXW2135 is 5100 PSI pump. I would recommend the VHP39 unloader it is rated for 5,560 PSI.
