Question:	I dont have hot water hardly....how do i adjust this to get better hot water...everything else in home has great hot water
Answer:	That's the housing only. It doesn't include the cartridge. The tub port is permanently blocked off on that version (i.e. you can't modify it to open the tub port). When they say it's for shower only, they mean it. When you buy your Delta shower faucet, it'll come with everything else you need. So, if you're putting in a new shower head, you'll need one of these and a new delta shower faucet. That's it.
Question:	Will this work for me? I am wanting a one valve to operate a fixed shower head and also divert to a handheld shower head. Will this valve do that
Answer:	Instead of using a diverter most of us real plumbers just use a 2nd valve. It's cheaper, and parts are easy to get. Run 3/4" to the shower, use a 3/4 x 1/2 x 1/2 Tee to feed both shower valves. Personally I feed most showers with 3/4" PEX straight to the valve, but that requires 3/4" PEX x !/2" Copper Sweat Insert in order to do, and most plumbers do even do it that way, just me.
Question:	Does this valve come with a cartridge
Answer:	This is a universal valve that is required to be plumbed in to you existing plumbing. Then you need to buy the trim package. This is the part that would control the water temperature when another source is used. The trim package contains the cartridge and all the handles, cover plate, screws etc. There are about 30 different trim packages to choose from. This is where you choose the style and function that you want from your shower. There are basically 3 categories that the trim packages fall under. The series 14 monitor is a standard shower control (one handle controls volume and temperature) The series 17 monitor has 2 handles that controls volume and temperature separately, but the temperature is pressure controlled. The series 17T is the top of the line and are quite expensive. These have 2 separate handles for volume and temperature. On these, the temperature is controlled thermostatically by the cartridge. The difference between the 3 types of trim is basically in the cartridge that comes with your trim pack. The cartridge determines what function your trim pack has. If you buy the 14 series the cartridge is cheaper and only turns water on and off. The 17T trim series has the top of the line cartridge that allows you to control volume and temperature separately. So you can set the water temperature to your favorite setting and not have to set it each time you take a shower. You are able to turn the shower on and off without changing your favorite temperature. If you have the extra money I would buy the 17T series. This type of trim is awesome, you won't be disappointed. If you want to go a little less expensive, you should go with the 17 series, you still get separate handles for volume and temperature, but you don't get the automatic temperature compensation when someone flushes the toilet or uses the washing machine while you are showering. I wouldn't go with the 14 series unless you are looking for a plain old one handles shower that has been around for ever.
Question:	What exactly does SINGLE BOX MODEL mean in (R1000-UNBX vs R1000-UN
Answer:	This is the valve body rough-in only. The gray disk with silver ring is a cap to allow you to pressure test your connections before you finish your shower wall. The correct cartridge comes with and is included in the price of the particular trim controller valve that you buy depending on whether you want a single handle (controls both water temperature and water flow as you move the handle) or a two handle (one handle controls temp only and one controls water flow only, of which there is 2 different types of cartridges). There is lots of good info on the Delta website that is very helpful and their customer service people are great. I called them 3 or 4 times on my shower remodel with questions and they had great recommendations.

Answer:	No. This valve body will allow water to be diverted between a tub spout and a shower head (the diversion is actually caused by a button or knob on the tub spout.) The bottom outlet can be capped, making this a shower only valve body. In order to do what you want, you also need the Delta R11000 three way diverter valve body. it allows control between a shower head and a hand held sprayer.In summary, you will need the R10000 and the R11000, and a decent plumber to install it properly.I stress to you to get a plumber who knows what he is doing. I have come in behind several plumbers that piped the R11000 incorrectly, yielding aZERO result. The valve bodies come with directions on how to pipe them, but literacy is failing in this country.

Answer:	Not sure on the actual flow rate but I have tried others and this one is the best I’ve found. If it’s not 100% then it’s close. It cost a bit more but made very well. Others get kind of hard to move the valve but this one is great.

Answer:	No, this valve will not the way you want. You want the Delta T17038 (or equivalent) to control both water volume and temperature. This model is ONLY the trim kit; you will also need the Delta multichoice valve. Question:	My set up is leaking and I believe it’s because the treads on the shower head for the shower handle are not uniform. How can I resolve this
Answer:	In short, yes you can do what you explain without any added pumps. Best thing for doing what you desire is to upgrade to a larger storage tank. This will allow you to run multiple lines without stress on the system for your demands. But as an example, with the standard 3gal tank, I have no problem with lines running over 10' above the tank and still have good pressure. Just doesn't last long with the small tank.Remember, this system makes a decent amount of waste water, so don't expect 10gal to go in and 10gal to come out. If you plan on using it throughout your house, the cost and water consumption will surprise you.

Answer:	I believe NPT stands for National Pipe thread (tapered thread)-look it up to be sure. ABS is plastic; go with the brass for the small price difference.

Answer:	100% shut off, however I don't use it that way. I just have it set the way I like it and pretty much leave it alone. The problem I had was with the 1 handle valve the water is hard to regulate pressure, so this gaget solved the problem.

Answer:	We install ours at the end of the pipe from the wall then attach the shower hose and handle. With our connection set up we have had no leaks at all. Works perfectly. We have blown out two other kind drenching our walls and ceiling. Not this one!

Answer:	I found that this cut water flow by approximately 50%. The valve design mechanism takes up at least 50% of the volume on the inside (where the water flows thru), so it makes sense that it would restrict flow by 50%--even when it is wide open.

Answer:	Dear customer Thanks for your question. There is no restrictor in the shower system. There is a stainless steel filter in the rain shower headconnector to the shower arm. You could try to clean it and remove it.
