Answer: The SJTW in the description of the product describes how it should be used. S means that this cord is rated for Hard Service, J means it is rated for up to 300Volts (though this is just a rating and will be plugged in to a 125 Volt home outlet), T means the coating is Thermoplastic, and W means it is rated for Weather/Outdoor Use. If connected properly and the ends are shielded from direct water penetration then yes, this cord should work well in the rain as it is rated for it.

Answer: Mine came in the cardboard sleeve, if I remember correctly. That was some weeks ago.

Answer: Assuming the 1.5 HP motors draw approx. 15 Amps each @ 120V, (2) separate #12AWG cords would be acceptable if connected to separate supply circuits. (1) cord would never be capable of supplying both blowers. I am technically qualified to make this judgement.

Answer: I called US Wire and Cable at 800-327-4637 and was informed this cord is made in the USA *and* in China because it is their most popular one and they had to out-source it to keep up with demand. So when you place your order on-line you may get one that is made in China (or USA if you're lucky). The cords made in China are made to the same specifications as the ones made in USA. Note: Their other cords are made in the USA so if you must have a made in the USA cord, then order a different model; for instance: a) Extreme All-Weather TPE (thermo-plastic elastometer); b) Arctic/Tropic™ Oil Resistant TPE-Rubber; or c) Frigid-Flex™ TPE-Rubber.
Question: does the drawer lock
Answer: It depends on how much power your car heater uses. This is a 12AWG cord, which can carry 15 Amps without overheating. If your heater has a standard 3-prong plug then it draws less than 15 Amps so you should be fine with this cord.

Answer: I would not run over 15 amps continuous but tend to be a little cautious. You can safely get away with short periods at 20 amps Ampacity charts show 20 amps for #12 solid copper and I have degraded this. Do not run a load while the cord is coiled on a reel.
