Question:	What is the fabric
Answer:	All I can tell you is that it is a well built tool. It is much better then the flimsy type sold for less money. It has enough reach to navigate through toilet and unstop a regular log jam but I do try to break it up with a small stick before flushing toilet. I feel it is a good tool to have just in case. My suggestion to you is to make the investment and try it even if toilet is flushing now. You might fish up something that is just hanging in there causing some of your problems. I can not tell you it will fix your problem but I can say it works for me on my 1976 Kohler toilet. Buy it and try it you never know what you will catch or release. If you do get a log jam to unclog get yourself a small stick around 1"X1"X2'. Have a bucket ready to pour water into toilet and try to flush. If you are lucky it will flush without having to use tool. If you are not lucky you will need toilet auger to clear the obstruction and bucket to carry out tool to clean outside of house. I use the water hose to clean off tool after using it to release logs. Believe me high pressure water makes cleanup easier. Good luck with your clogs hope my comments were helpful.

Answer:	I bought the 6-feet size because it is longer, I preferred that.

Answer:	Since it's typically used infrequently, a good wash after each use won't take long. Bleach is a good antibacterial cleaner, but will cause corrosion if left on it. Hose it off after applying bleach, air- or towel-dry the snake, then apply a light coat of oil (3-in-1, motor oil, etc.) with a rag to prevent corrosion on the cable. Had not heard of soaking in antifreeze to prevent corrosion, although it does protect car engines and radiators.
