Answer:	Ours just has a foam insert.
Question:	do you have to use bags with it
Answer:	Bags are not mandatory to use. However, they are recommended.

Answer:	Remove dry pick up filters and leave the foam filter on. If the foam filter becomes saturated and creates a mist in the exhaust, the filter should be dried first or replaced by a dry foam filter before finishing the job.....according to the manual.

Answer:	A wet application is not included in this product however there is a wet filter sold separately (VF7000). Hope this helps!

Answer:	I would not recommend not using a filter. The filter protects the motor from dust and debris and also helps the dust being redistributing back into the area being shop vac'ed.

Answer:	It’s plastic but very flexible and mine hasn’t shown any signs of collapsing.

This vac can only be run without the filter for vacuuming clean liquids. The filters are reusable as long as they don’t sustain any damage. Answer:	Never seen a porter cable However if your asking in general - I have this model and the Milwaukee Hi torque. The Ridgid is a solid unit for general use. Porter Cable has fallen in the line of tools. In short - Milwaukee has the most versatile and toughest tools out there along with Dewalt. Ridgid and Ryobi make a cost affective line thats very good for home users. I would recommend this unit if you cant afford a Milwaukee.

Answer:	There are four filters for my 4-Gallon Model No. VF408 1101: a CARTRIDGE filter, a SPONGE filter, a DUST collection bag, and a small flat HEPA filter. The CARTRIDGE filter is the main filter - NOT to be used for LIQUID vacuuming. The SPONGE filter is evidently used for LIQUID vacuuming. This SPONGE "sock-like" filter fits (stretches) over the same cage as the CARTRIDGE filter. The SPONGE tore the first time I tried to stretch it over the cage. I don't do LIQUID vacuuming in any case. The HEPA filter fits in its own little space and seems to do nothing but be "politically correct." It doesn't seem to get dirty. I have no clue how the folded paper DUST COLLECTOR works. The CARTRIDGE and HEPA filters are fairly easily cleanable. Try to get the Vacmaster Owner's Manual on-line.

Question:	How well does this do with fine dust? I want to sand some paint and dry wall with this attached to an orbital sander
Answer:	I haven't used this model for sanding drywall (yet), but it's more powerful than my previous model, which did just fine. It depends also on how good your dust collector is on your sander. There is a filter for the vent which should contain most of the collected dust and keep it from blowing out the vent port.
